BECCA had stepped into work after almost a month off. She found it weird to be back, especially due to the fact her family name was blasted all over the news, It was like she couldn't escape it. No matter where she went, who she spoke to, Bradley would still be there, fresh in her mind.
She slowly rolled out from her bed, finding it weird she was finally back in the flat she hadn't been in for the past few months. She made her bed, her eyes blurry as she began to change herself into some appropriate clothing for work, She felt almost nauseous about the whole situation, a sense of fear.
But there she was, making her way to work. She stepped outside of her car, breathing in the smell of burnt tyres and men's aftershave. She twitched her head, noticing Sally and a ginger girl behind her.
"Alright, Becks?" Sally grinned, pulling the girl into a hug. "Long time no see." she smirked, walking into the station with her. "This is Millie, she's new." Sally pointed at the ginger who waved awkwardly.
"Hey." Becca spoke back, her smile soft. "Surprised you haven't ripped your hair out." she smirked, a small giggle coming out of her mouth.
Smithy's brows furrowed as he walked past her, shocked to hear her laughing. "Becca?" he called out, a somber expression on his face. "Can I speak to you?"
"Oooh, Becca's got a boyfriend!" Sally giggled like a schoolgirl before skipping away.
Becca rolled her eyes, sticking her tongue out at the blonde before making her way over to Smithy's office. Smithy closed the door slowly before making his way over to his desk.
"Nice to see you laughing again." Smithy spoke softly, leaning on his desk. "How's your mum?" he queried as Becca stepped closer.
"She's fine, I guess." she nodded, scratching her head. "She just keeps visiting the grave a lot..." she sighs, moving to sit down next to him. "This is too much Smithy, way too much."
"I know, but it'll be over soon. The press will stop, and hopefully you can live a somewhat normal life." he sighed, placing an arm around her shoulder. "It's a lot to take in, I know....and nobody would criticise you if you stayed off a little longer. That's if you need to."
"I wanna stay, I can't keep staying in that flat...it's so bland." she stated, leaning up as Smithy's radio began to blare.
"Go and get changed, I'll talk to you later...okay?" he grinned, kissing her head.
"You're all about affection, you." Becca laughed, walking away.

Gina walked over to Smithy, a look of worry on her face. She pulled him into her office, shutting the door behind them.
"Ma'am?" Smithy spoke in a stern tone, folding his arms. "Are you alright?" he started to get worried now, Gina also seemed worried, and it scared him.
