Aditya forcefully ushered Kritika into their room and shut the door behind them with a resounding thud
."What the hell are you doing, Mr. Singhania?" Kritika snapped, her annoyance evident.
"Why did you bring up the honeymoon topic?" Aditya demanded harshly, his frustration palpable.
"Mr. Singhania, it was Priya di, not me," Kritika retorted.
"Don't lie, Miss. I know you're behind that. I never thought you were this eager to go on a honeymoon with me," Aditya said sarcastically.
"Honeymoon with you? What a joke," Kritika scoffed.
"You know what? I would rather die than go on a honeymoon with you," she declared defiantly.
"What are you waiting for then? Go ahead and die instead of destroying my peace," Aditya hissed, moving away from her.
"Oh, please. I'm not going to die for you," Kritika shot back.
"Will you leave my room?" Aditya demanded harshly, his patience wearing thin.
"I'll gladly leave. I'm not dying to be stuck in this shitty room of yours," Kritika retorted, storming out of the room and leaving behind an angry Aditya.
Kritika's POV:
What does that man think of himself, huh? Honeymoon, my foot!
I was seething with anger as I made my way down the stairs, but my frustration turned to concern when I saw Ma sitting on the couch with a nervous expression. Rushing to her side, I immediately inquired about what was troubling her.
"What happened, Ma?" I asked, my voice filled with worry. She looked at me with a mix of emotions, and we walked together to the pool area for privacy.
We sat in silence for a few minutes, the tension palpable in the air.
"Ma, what do you want to ask?" I finally broke the silence, unable to bear it any longer.
"Hmm, what's going on between you and Adi?" Ma asked, her tone cautious.
"What do you mean, Ma?" I asked nervously, unsure of how much she knew.
"Kritika, are you both happy in this marriage?" Ma's question caught me off guard, and my heart skipped a beat.
"Um, yes, Ma, of course," I replied unconvincingly, trying to mask my anxiety.
"Please don't lie anymore, beta. I know you're both putting on an act for us," Ma said, her voice tinged with vulnerability.
"How... how do you know?" I stammered, feeling exposed.
"I overheard your conversation a few minutes ago," Ma confessed, and my heart sank.I couldn't keep up the facade any longer. It was time to come clean.
"I'm sorry, Ma. I'm sorry for pretending. We're not happy in this marriage, and we don't have any husband-wife relationship," I admitted, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders.
"Don't apologize, beta. It's not your fault," Ma reassured me, her eyes filled with understanding.
"You know, our Adi wasn't always like this. He used to be a cheerful, lively child. Whenever we were sad, he'd try to make us smile with his antics," Ma reminisced, her voice tinged with sadness.
I was stunned by Ma's revelation. It was in line with what Bhai had said earlier.
"I don't know what happened to him. Five years ago, he went to London for our company, and his hard work propelled us to the top. But then he changed. He stopped talking to us, stopped taking our calls. And now that he's back, I can see that he's not the same Adi," Ma confided, her voice breaking.
No, he's worse than I thought.
Suddenly, Ma turned to me, her eyes brimming with tears. I instinctively reached out to comfort her.
"Ma, what—" I began, but she cut me off.
"Beta, I know he's harsh with you, but please don't leave him. I've noticed a change in him when you're around. That's why I chose you as his bride," Ma pleaded, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Ma, I promise I'll try to bring back the old Aditya," I vowed, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. She smiled through her tears and enveloped me in a hug.
"Thank you, beta. And we'll all be here to support you," she said, her voice filled with gratitude.
"Ma, it's getting late. Papa will be waiting for you. You should go and rest," I suggested, gently urging her to take care of herself. With a kiss on my forehead, she left, leaving me deep in thought by the edge of the pool.
"Mr. Singhania has a past. How intriguing. But how will I uncover it? I can't ask him directly, but I need to find out somehow," I mused, determined to unravel the mysteries surrounding Aditya.
And so, my new mission, "Operation Khadoos Singhania," began.
