Chapter : 33

Two Protectors.

The entire hospital building is surrounded by press and media. The journalists are making every possible moves to get inside the building and record the first true video footage of the junior Nagpati. He has been the most unavailable and mysterious Nagpati ever since the beginning of their journey. His brothers kept him well protected and far away from the limelight. But now that they have got his one private picture leaked, they have got the taste.

Right now Vulcan, Arjun and Leo are sitting inside a private cabin in the hospital, where Leo is being bombarded with questions over phone.

"I was not allowed sir. I was strictly ordered to contact Arjun sir and no one else." Leo utters.

"What the hell is this logic Leo?! Where are they now? Is Arjun there?" Ritwik asks.

"Yes sir. He is sitting right beside me." Leo answers.

"Pass him the phone." Ritwik says. Leo looks at Arjun who is already looking at him quizzically. He extends the phone to him and Arjun takes a deep breath before receiving it and walks away towards the glass window on the other end of the cabin.

"Yes Ritwik." He begins.

"I should've let Dev punch you to death that day. What on earth is happening Arjun? Why are we learning something so important from a newspaper? Who is that girl? Don't tell me that's Pihu because Teressa is already freaking out. Dev is losing his shit. Above all it's Manik's picture in the newspaper. Forget about me for a sec but Dev always made sure to keep him out of these things because Nik hates this, he never felt comfortable infront of too many people let alone the paparazzis. His privacy cannot be compromised Arjun, specially now!" Ritwik says.

"Many questions I see. Answering one by one then. Yes the girl is indeed Pihu and she has been attacked by some goons. Somehow, please don't ask me 'how' because I truly don't know, but Manik was keeping a close eye on her. He rescued her from a probable pathetic death. I hope none of you would've liked that. And about the privacy thing, right now that's the least of our concerns. By 'our' I mean all three of us, me, Leo and your brother." Arjun explains.

"Shit." Ritwik curses.
"How serious is her condition? How is she right now?" He adds.

"Her surgery went well. She is awake now. But as a doctor I can tell that she is not fine. Her approach may fool you but she is not. She has been kicked in the stomach multiple times, slapped or probably punched across the face and one of her legs has been brutally broken. She has some internal injuries as well." Arjun explains.

"F*cking hell ! Why would someone... shit.. who the hell are these people?! Why would they do something like that to her? She is the most harmless person I have ever met." Ritwik grits through his teeth.

"Your brother and Leo are working on finding them out. I think they will contact yo....." His words get interrupted.

"Dev and I are coming." Ritwik announces.

"Wait. No. Don't come right now. Please, give Manik a few days, wait till he communicates himself. It's a request. Mentally, he is in a very sensitive state right now. More people will only screw up his mind. Trust me." Arjun warns.

"What's happening Arjun? This new information is worrying me." Ritwik asks, his voice filled with concern.

"I understand Ritwik. But you have to trust me on this. He is dealing with an inner turmoil. A turmoil only one person can keep under check." Arjun releases a deep sigh as he looks up and his gaze gets fixed at the back of Vulcan who hasn't stopped smoking ever since he met Pihu.

"Pihu." Ritwik completes his thoughts, clenching his eyes shut. Arjun purses his lips at that.
