The Youngest Son.
Trigger Warning : Mention of suicide.
The clouds have been gathering slowly making the gloom even denser. The blue and white lights from the desktop reflects across the right side of his nearly perfect face. His brown eyes are fixed outside not looking at anything particular, because his mind has travelled back to the conversation he had a few days back with Pihu.
"How severe is it?" He asked, feeling the worry choking him from within.
"Just a broken leg Dashis, nothing too serious. I will be joining back within a month." She answered too casually for his liking.
"Have you lost your mind? You need to rest. I'm coming to Delhi. You're coming back here with me, we'll go for the best doctors." He offered feeling restless.
"Hey, you don't need to. Please don't worry. I believe I am already being treated by the best doctors available. Trust me. I'll recover soon enough and for the projects I was handling, two of them can wait till I return but the other three needs to be finalized within next week. I can mail you or Riya the details. I hope that will...." She didn't get to finish her sentence.
"Will you stop? The projects can wait Pihu. All of it can wait. You are not arguing with me about that. What about your parents? Do you need me to pick them up and bring to you?" He suggested.
"No. Please don't. They aren't aware. I didn't tell them. It's just a small accident and will pass pretty soon, why bothering them. And you just know that if you need me, I am completely capable of providing a 'work from home' okay?" She said and his jaw clenched.
"The fact that you're sick, you broke your leg quite severely and I can't even bring you back or at least see you for once is already too much for me. Please stop making everything so professional Pihu. You know that you mean more than that to me." He answered barely controlling his temper.
"Dashis," Pihu uttered softly and his heart skipped a beat, "I am sorry for everything trust me, but when I am saying you shouldn't be here, I have my reasons. Just know that I am at the safest place, with the safest people. And you can always make a video call, to crosscheck my words." She said chuckling.
The fact that he knows who she is with is doing something to his brain. He has been a very calm minded person throughout his life but from the day he met this woman something shifted within him. He doesn't know why. He has met a ton of beautiful, charming ladies but the very moment his eyes landed on her calm, sincere obsidian eyes his heart blocked away every other person almost immediately. The simplicity in her smile, the way every part of her exudes sheer honesty, he was hypnotized, to the point that when he looked into her eyes he could see the underlying sadness within it and that made her even more beautiful. She is strong, disciplined and has immense control on her personality. Hence the moment she denied his advances very tactfully he felt this growing urge of making her his, no matter what it takes. He has seen her loving people with every bit of her heart and craved for her warmth, her affection.
And now that he is at the receiving end of the affection, he is extremely aware of the boundaries. She has drawn it herself. She won't empty her feelings for him, because she has stored the majority of it for that one person, Manik Raj Nagpati.
But he wants it all, he wants all of her. His chest heaves up and down. He is fuming and before he could process his next move his hand shoves everything out of the table with full force. Every single thing including his laptop lands to the floor breaking into pieces. And that's when his eyes fall on the polished black shoes some few inches away from it. His bloodshot eyes move up and land on the person standing at the entrance, his wrinkled eyes looking at him worriedly.
