Sethos | Flickers Of Affection

Being the planner as you are, you always make sure to pack the necessary things before taking off on a mini trip with your friend Sethos. His immense interest for the outdoors naturally leads him to be out and about majority of the time, and sometimes you'll join him on his little trips, just like for today. It's too bad today's weather may not be the most ideal...

For you. Not ideal for you. But for Sethos? It's not an issue, considering he doesn't mind any kind of weather while he explores the world of nature.

"I might call it off for today," you share your thoughts out loud as you lift your head up at the cloudy sky, wriggling your nose. "It seems like it'll likely rain soon."

The dark brown-haired male immediately lifts his head from packing a container of cold water and some simple shawarma wraps. He pouts at you like a disappointed puppy. "No, no, no. Are you really bailing last minute? Now I'm gonna venture alone, with no soul to enjoy these wraps with."

Shifting your attention to where he's gesturing at, your ears perk up as you almost drool looking at the delicious wraps he made; after all, your friend makes the best shawarma wraps ever. But you quickly shake your head. You can't let the food tempt you... again!

"I even made extra..." he says in a sing-song voice, "...and this time, they are extra flavorful and loaded with your favorites..."

Curses! You can practically hear him grinning. He knows the way to your heart is delicious food, especially shawarma wraps. Just don't look at them... don't look at them... if you can't see the food, you won't want the food, right?

"Ah, but since your eyes are closed, allow me to describe the wraps in detail. I mean, I want my dear friend to envision our soon to be feast."

Needless to say, the winner is evident as you're currently standing next to him, your backpack ready to go, as you're happily munching on a wrap, your tail wagging behind you. Sethos looks very satisfied with the outcome as he leads the way to today's outdoors trip: a lovely oasis.

Apparently this oasis in particular is quite popular among travelers due to its natural glow under the stream of moonlight. Perhaps because you aren't as outsdoorsy as the male is, but the photos you've seen of the oasis looks just like some of the other spots you've been to. They're all beautiful and evoke serenity; this one looks like it'll be exactly the same.

But hey, who are you to complain when you get free shawarma wraps?

Sethos glances at you, his light green eyes widening slightly as he squints at the wrap in your hands. Only one bite mark out of it. "I swear you were halfway done—hold on, really? You couldn't wait, (Y/N)?"

He reaches back to zip up his bag, shaking his head with a helpless smile, as you cheer at having succeeded in your mission of secretly stealing another wrap without the stop of his hand. You're pretty sure you can eat a whole oasis of this and never get tired of it.

"Bad, bad, bad. I'm warning you now... steal one more wrap, and the other eleven's all mine," he warns, his finger wagging at you in disappointment.

Your ears fall back against your head. "Surely you don't mean that?"

"Feel free to take another one, and you'll see for yourself how serious I am."

The rest of the steady walk doesn't involve anymore stealings, because you know you'll get hungry by the time you guys reach the scenic area. Though your eyes keep stealing glances at his brown bag, your hands having a terrible urge to just... reach in and grab one more serving. Just one more. One. One won't hurt. One measly wrap.

"Hey, it's raining!" he calls out.

Your hand retracts as you hiss and quickly open your umbrella, just in time for you to hear the gentle raindrops fall with its familiar pitter patter sounds. The once dry, ashy ground darkens with ease. "Dumb rain..." you mutter, your tail flickering back and forth in annoyance.

On the other hand, Sethos is smiling as he reaches up to the pouring sky, letting the raindrops fill up in his cupped hands. He then flings his hands up, laughing. He's like an excitable puppy... it's cute. Your heart flutters as you observe him quietly, your fingers gripping onto the handle tightly. It's not like this is the first time you've ever seen him act all giddy over this weather, so what makes today in particular so different?

"Either you're thinking about me, or you're thinking about stealing another wrap."

His voice suddenly sounding rather close to you breaks your thoughts. Realization dawns upon your face as your lips part, looking at him from such a distance that you can see the raindrops cascading down his lovely face; to see his sparkling eyes focused solely on you; his dripping fingers brushing against your warm cheek.

Wait a minute.

"Sethos!" Your ears and tail flick up as he laughs loudly and flickers water droplets all over your face, ducking out and away from the umbrella. You can feel slight wetness hitting your ears as you whine his name. "Why you...! Get back here!"

"Catch me if you can! Woah, someone's an angry kitty," he teases, sticking his tongue out at you as he jogs backwards, managing to avoid all of your swiping hand trying to grab at him.

His laughter mixed with your annoyed shouts fill the rainy atmosphere, your sweet moment drowned out by the sounds of the pouring rain. Perhaps a bit of a wet fur isn't an entirely bad thing, so long as you get a lingering touch of affection and warmth from Sethos.

Sethos wouldn't mind making you wet all the time, so long as he gets to see your cute and annoyed expressions.
