"Tim I'm fine!" Lucy demanded, trying to stay calm though she was getting irritated.

"Lucy, you're 9 months pregnant and you haven't taken a single day of maternity leave. I know you have this big case and all, but some other detective can take it. You and our baby come before this case!" Tim said back, aggressively putting his bag on the kitchen island.

"Oh, yeah. That's what everyone wants! The new pregnant girl to hand off her case because she isn't good enough to work a case." She rolled her eyes, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge.

"I didn't say that Lucy! I'm saying it's dangerous! You could get hit in the stomach, inhale something toxic, or go into labor while working this case. It's not safe, Luce," Tim lowered his voice.

"I don't need you telling me what's good for me. I have been fine up to this point, I can work one more day. That's all I need to catch this guy, one more day." Lucy sighed, even more irritated now.

"If that's what you think," Tim sighed, clearly not agreeing with her. "You're too stubborn so whatever, let's go."

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing, Lucy. You want to risk your safety and the safety of our child? Fine. I'm not going to stop you, I'm leaving. Are you riding with me?" Tim turned around, holding his keys up.

"So what you're saying is, you don't care if me or the baby gets hurt?" She asked, grabbing her hip.

"Lucy, that's not what I meant and you know it!" Tim cried, dragging his hands down his face. "Nothing I say is going to change your mind, so let's go before we're late."

"Fine."

"Fine."

The ride to the station was in tense silence as Tim replayed his words. He didn't mean for it to sound like he didn't care, he really does care. He cares so much to the point that it scares him.

When they pull into the station, Lucy wastes no time grabbing her bag and making an attempt at the door. Tim quickly locked it, knowing she could just as easily unlock it, but it gave him a second to get her attention.

"Lucy, I'm sorry, I really do care." Tim pleaded, "I'm just scared."

"Don't give me that, Tim. You said what you said, I know I'm overreacting but I deserve to." Lucy sighed.

"You're not overreacting, you're pregnant. You're going to have emotions-"

"Oh my God! Now you're using hormones against me!" Lucy scoffed, opening the door of the truck.

"Lucy! No!" Tim cried as she made a beeline for the precinct. Tim sighed and grabbed his bag, getting out of the trunk.

"Timothy, what did you do?" Angela came storming out.

"I just got here, what do you mean?" Tim groaned.

"Lucy is upset, she can't be upset this close to her due date! Also, why is she here?" She crossed her arms.

Tim filled her in on everything that happened that morning and mornings prior, safe to say Angela was on his side. However, that didn't make him feel better. No matter how right he may be, he still made his wife upset and that stung.

"Just- just do me a favor? Stick by her today, make sure she's okay?" Tim pleaded.

"Of course, she's in good hands. Don't worry, Tim, you'll be my first call if something happens." Angela promised as they split ways.

Tim was walking aimlessly around the station since he got there early, hoping to run into Lucy. He didn't want to go directly to her to give her space, but he wanted to see her. His wish came true when she ran into him coming out of the break room.
