chapter thirteen : a friend to a friend.
└────── ⋆⋅✦⋅⋆ ──────┘evangeline.
evangeline."who are you?!" you shouted into your pillow in frustration. hours after the cd incident, you spent your entire time rotting in your bed, trying to peice things together.
in all honesty, you weren't in a good safe space to even be by yourself. you felt vulnerable, confused, anxious, and embarassed. so many things happened in one day, you so badly wish tomorrow had come, but you couldn't sleep.
you wouldn't be able to sleep until you found out some sort of helpful information that would ease your mind on the weight it has been carrying. grumbling into your pillow, your phone began to rang, in hopes it was adrien, you swiftly held your phone to your ear. expecting to hear his soft melodic voice— i mean, his usual regular tone voice, of course. "y/n? are you okay? you called a couple hours ago?" it was marinette.
you sighed, putting on your best attempt at a fake voice, "hey! i'm okay, i just... well i just needed help with something but it's fine now i got it figured," there was a long pause before she had responded, growing uncomfortable you began to fiddle with your hands. "if theres anything you want to talk about, we can talk about it. that's what friends are for!" she said. you couldn't see her but you knew she said that with a smile.
marinette was so kind. no wonder she was always surrounded by such great people. you would never forget the day you saw her on your first day of school. her quirky charming era radiated off her.
"actually, i do need you. can we talk? i really feel like i don't have anyone and i need someone right now." you felt bad asking marinette to listen to your vents, but you had to relieve some weight on your shoulders or else you would loose it. "of course! i'll come over right! i mean, i'll come right over."
"are you sure? it's dark out, let's just call?" you heard a lot of background noise through her end but didn't say anything about it. was she busy? did she have visitors? "don't worry about me! i got great transportation!"
you texted marinette your address and waited for her to come by.
...
"so you're telling me a magic man appeared out of no where, selling this cd to you?" marinette repeated holding the white cd infront of your face. "this cd miraculously had your name written on it, and now you're convinced this cd has something to do with chat noir?"
"i know it's hard to understand. but this cd, it played a song—"
"what song?" marinette asked cutting you off. "ma belle evangeline." you watched her expression turn a little sour but you decided not to speak on it. "ever since then i've been having flashbacks about a girl named evangeline and chat noir. and it's all.. well how do i explain it..." you squirmed in embarrassment, "it's all lovey dovey things.. memories of them dancing, cuddling, kissing.. just doing couple things!" you said shyly. "and that's not even the start. everytime i get those memories i have this... horrible suffocating feeling in my chest. my heart aches and it's unbearable."
marinette's expression was unreadable. considering you dumped a whole lot of 'weirdness' to her, you were scared she was gonna yell at you, call you delusional, or even scold you for having some weird chat noir fantasy.
