this wasn't his first rodeo. and he hoped it would be his last. but no matter how much he'd ignore her, how many times he'd mask his feelings, somehow they always resurfaced.

he always ended up at her window, she was always on his mind, the first person he subconsciously looked for in a room of many, someone whom he wanted to protect.

and it so badly hurt to watch her face as he ignored her and left without a word. he knew that this is how it should be, but why did he feel regretful?

why was she making him want to take these chances? and take those risks?

...

the next day at school, you knew what you had to. figure out why adrien was ignoring you and question him about chat noir. you felt a pair of eyes on you, turning your head at nathaniel whose eyes stared wide at yours, he chuckled. "you look tired," he said. you grumbled a big frown plastered on your face. you were seconds from complaining, ready to give your redhead friend an earful, but he quickly shushed you saying, "i don't even wanna know y/n."

when class was over, the bell rung signaling that grace period before next class begun. you quickly stuffed your notebooks into your bag and speed walked to the front of your class where you saw adrien slowly packing his bag.

putting your hands on his desk, he jumped at the random appearance. "you, come with me. we need to talk." you said. you saw him avoid your gaze, rubbing the back of his neck. "ah, sorry y/n, im busy. i need to get to class quickly too." he said. you kissed your teeth. "not with that speed of yours," you said signalling to how slow he was at packing his bag. "fine. make it quick." he said, shortly following you outside of the class and to the secluded hallway the two of your first become properly acquainted with.

you sat down, as adrien towered infront of you leaning on the staircase, still avoiding your gaze. "agreste you've been ignoring me. i tried reaching out to you but you didn't answer. what's up with that?" you asked. there was a pause— until he ultimately sighed. "i've just been busy these past days y/n. i'm a model, i do so many extracurriculars, plus with school— i've just been juggling a lot of things physically and personally." he said locking eyes with yours.

his pretty green eyes you always seem to get lost in. you find yourself disassociating sometimes when you looked into his orbs. but, that's not important right now.

"i'm sorry adrien it completely passed my mind, and i didn't know you did so much outside of school.. i'm here for you, you know? we're friends. don't just run away when things are difficult, i can be your leaning shoulder too," you said to him completely switching your angry attitude. it was hard to not stay mad at him. a small chuckle escaped his lips.

adrien then began to sit down with you, eyes almost eye level. you never realized how different of a world you and adrien lived in. sure you were both well off, but your backgrounds were far from similar. you felt a small ounce of guilt confronting him about his lack of time managment for you when he had many other important things to do.
