"i want to stop being friends," his voice rang through your ears, the words echoing in your head. you weren't sure if your stomach was churning because of his sudden words or that oddly familiar flashback.hands on waist, bodies moving in hym, isn't that what you and adrien are doing? is that why it felt so familiar?
"what are you talking about agreste? is this because i tried to kiss you?" you scoffed, pushing his shoulder lightly, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. 'he's just joking isn't he?' you thought. adrien had always been playful and slightly mischievous with you, so surely this was one of his tricks?"i was just joking-- i didn't make you feel weird, did i? it was not--" you rambled. "no, y/n..." he croaked, cutting you off. his head turned away from you as he stood still, not moving an inch. the two of you awkwardly standing, limbs tense on each other's bodies.
"ever since i met you, things have been different... i couldn't tell if it wasn't in a good way or not, but i..." he trailed off, finally facing towards you, a frown plastered on his delicate face. "i can't risk it. you're tearing down the walls i've tried so hard to build, and i just... don't wanna mess up again. the more we remain friends, the more you'll ruin me, y/n l/n.." he stammered.
you couldn't believe him. one moment ago, your lips were pursed, assuming you'd have your first kiss, and now you stood like a fool, presumably experiencing your first heartbreak. "are you joking? what're you muttering about? one moment you're gentle and kind, and the next you shun me out. what's your problem?" your voice trembled, as you dug your nails into the palm of your hands to keep you from bursting out in tears. it honestly felt like you would faint right there from all the emotions and physical pain you were feeling.
"the only thing i can do for you for the last time as your friend is to grant you a wish,""a wish? what're you talking—" "i told chat noir to talk to you. he said he'd give you one opportunity to talk to him. have a good rest of your night, y/n.
"did y/n just get rejected?! how pathetic!" chloe squawked in your face. tears began to well your eyes, "not now chloe..." you whispered under your breath.
you weren't sure what to do.
the brightly lit and colorfully decorated room began to twist in a grotesque way, the stares from other students shaping into sinister looks of curiosity, and embarrassment. you breath began to hitch, becoming ragged. with every inhale it felt as if thorns were piercing through your lungs, and exhale tightening your chest.
you felt like you were suffocating. a sea of terror in which its waves pulled you deeper into its cold water, unable to move, think, or do anything. your body only allowed you to stand. your conscious couldn't comprehend what adrien had said to you. the shock was so grand that even the simplest functions, like walking away, could not happen to you.
completely overwhelmed by the immense whispers from your peers and from adriens harsh words, you did the only thing you could do.
run away.
fleeting away from the school, you heard a few distant calls of your name, but you didn't dare to turn back. you ran wherever your legs took you. you had no exact destination, as your legs had minds of their own. ignoring the burning pain that came from your thighs, adrenaline rushed through you as you kept running, tears threatening to fall from your eyes with every gush of wind that passed through you as you ran across paris' quiet streets.
