A Lock of Love
He gave her the space she had asked, played along with time as it ticked by so slowly from then on. He thought it was a blessing in disguise — how she'd asked for it would also be a great opportunity to consider things on his part while they were tying their promises in that settlement. Find more time for himself, maybe. Reconsider his relationship with his fiancé.
That made him stop eating midway. Jimin threw the second idea away. Garbage. He wouldn't be in this tight situation if he considered their relationship in the first place.
He wholeheartedly accepts the thought — that he is a selfish, inconsiderate bastard because he is just as. And he'll be breaking this woman's heart anytime soon. A reality he wasn't prepared to face.
Mina looked at him, then at his plate halfway to being empty.
"You're not in the mood lately." Mina quietly stated as an observation. She took a sip of her wine delicately as if to give herself time to respond. "Jimin, if anything is bothering you. You can tell me, I'm your fiancé. I have the right to know."
He worked with his inner monologue. Now, they have come to this. There will be questions. There will be accusations. And there will be as well explanations. Something he had expected but wasn't ready to have. Not now. Not yet. But here they are, exactly like he had anticipated. Jimin ended up playing with the spoon and fork instead.
A half a smile perked up his lips. "Nothing, honey. It's not something you have to worry about."
"Was it those nightmares again?"
"No."
Mina pursed her lips, she wasn't done when she said further,
"You've been awfully reserved. You're losing your appetite. You're not even coming to my meetings anymore. Not that I'm asking for your acquaintance, but..."
Sadness crept in her eyes as she effortlessly tried not to show him. So suddenly he considered it entirely new coming from the Myoui Mina he knows who always embodies confidence and elegance.
Jimin felt his heart hammering under his chest.
