CHAPTER 11



The lady who tried to kill me.

Heaton

I need to go home. I need to talk to Dad. I need to know if Heaton is my mother. Or is she Yelena's mother, Chan? I need to know, if she was my mom or stepmom, why that woman wanted to kill me? Why did Mrs. Jeon have that picture? And what is written behind it

My thought process is interrupted as I hear a commotion. The living room. I rush outside my room to find the whole family there.

Jungkook is fighting with mom. They don't notice my presence as they charge at each other. I'm perplexed till I knew what they're fighting about.

"SHE'S MY DAUGHTER! SHE'S MY EVERYTHING! YOU CAN'T THROW HER AWAY AS YOU WISH"

"Mom! Please, calm down"

"MOM PLEASE! IT'S WHAT BOTH OF US WANT AND IT'S FOR THE BEST" Jungkook says, raising his voice

"IT'S FOR THE BEST? IT'S FOR THE BEST? SHE'S NOT GOING ANYWHERE! YOU'VE NO IDEA WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ME IF YOU DO THAT" Her breath flatters as her heart palpitates

They're fighting me. For me to stay. But I can't stay here. I watch mom as she constantly claims me to be her daughter. Did I see everything wrong?

This mom who's wishing for me to stay longer, who makes sure I'm comfortable, who's fighting for me, who slapped her son for me cannot be the one who hit me right?

"YOU FORCED ME TO MARRY FAST. AND I FOUND A GIRL IN HASTE, JUST BECAUSE OF YOU AND NOW-"

I hear him pause. I look up to see that he's staring straight at me. I gulp. Perfect.

"Didn't you yourself choose the girl, Jungkook?"

I notice a slight twitch of his eyebrows.

"Mom...mom, Yelena, she-
I CAN'T GO ON LIVING LIKE THIS! I WANT TO HONESTLY LIVE WITH SOMEBODY I LOVE. IT'S PAINFUL FOR BOTH OF US AND YOU KNOW THAT TOO WELL. I WON'T DO ANYTHING TO THEIR FAMILY, PLEASE"

"You won't have to" Mrs. Jeon says.

I twitch my eyebrows in confusion. What did she mean?

"YOU KNOW WHAT MOM! WE'RE HAVING THE COURT HEARING TOMORROW AND THAT'S IT"

Tomorrow? Yeah, the sooner the better. The next moment I see mom collapsing as all the family members attend to her, including me. I see Jungkook rubbing his heels together as he jolts back towards mom.

"Jungkook call the doctor, fast" Lia says as she turns to me,

"Y/n, we'll take her upstairs. Please bring a glass of water" I nod as they take her to their room. Was she that tensed that she collapsed?

TIME SKIPS: 10:30

PLACE: MY ROOM

"Mom will be alright, Lia, don't worry. And once I'll be gone, she won't face such a problem, nor will I disappoint you. It's just a wait till tomorrow" I try to console Lia



"How cruel god is huh? I thought I was having a sister here and I guess I was just being played again."

I don't have words to respond as I fix my eyes on the floor.

"Y/n! You know right, I'll miss you"

"I know. Well more than my husband." I joke. It's my last day. Here. With her. I see her laugh. Suddenly, she grows concerned as I see the tension in her face, as if she's hesitating to say what's she's about to tell me.
