Today, I embarked on a solo odyssey through the bustling heart of Mumbai, a city pulsing with life and color. I had initially considered inviting Abhay to join me, but I hesitated, not wishing to disturb Yashi and not possessing Abhay's new number. So here I am, navigating this grand mosaic of experiences alone.
Yesterday, after bidding Yashi farewell at the airport, I returned to my hotel around 1 AM, utterly drained from a relentless day of shopping and job hunting. The weight of the day's exhaustion led me to surrender to sleep's embrace.
Now, it's 11 AM. 😅👉👈, I plan to venture out by 12:30. The promise of a new adventure stirs excitement within me
After a refreshing shower and getting dressed, I headed out for some street food: Vada Pav and Dhokla. Though I'm not usually fond of besan Dhokla, this one was surprisingly delicious. Still, I'll always prefer the Sooji version.
With my stomach content, I decided to visit the Horticulture Park. I chose this spot because, while the Gateway of India, the Elephant Caves, and Marine Drive are popular group attractions, the park offered a tranquil escape.
As I stepped into the park, it felt like the world slowed down just for me. The sun was gentle, and a cool breeze whispered through the trees, carrying the sweet fragrance of flowers. It was as if the park was saying, "Breathe, unwind, and let your worries drift away."
I fished out my camera and captured the serenity, eager to share the beauty with friends later. I wandered through the park, soaking in its charm, before heading to a nearby boot house with a sea view. As the day turned to dusk, purple lights flickered on, casting a magical glow over the scene.
Dinner was a delightful affair of Ragda Pattice and Pav Bhaji. I ate so much that I felt as if I'd satisfied my appetite for a week. Returning to my room, I took a hot shower to soothe my tired muscles and settled down with a book.
Did I ever mention that I design my own clothes? I've always had a passion for fashion. While I don't design jewelry, I've created many of my own outfits. I had once dreamed of pursuing fashion design as a career, but my father's wish for me to become a doctor steered me in a different direction. My sister wasn't interested in medicine, and my brother was more into sports than studies.
Despite being an average student, I was determined to become a doctor. I pursued my degree from Imperial College London, and now, here I am.
After reading for a bit, I grew restless and decided to visit a café. I needed the presence of people, as the silence in my room felt oppressive today. I found a table by the window, plugged in my headphones, and lost myself in a daydream. I imagined a perfect partner—caring, handsome, and loving. Just holding hands and walking together felt like a sweet escape from reality.
But eventually, the spell broke, and reality hit hard. Love often seems to bring more pain than joy. As I prepared to leave the café, I accidentally bumped into a man who was rushing past. He caught me just in time, his hands steady but his apology frantic.
"Are you okay, ma'am? I'm really sorry. I didn't see you coming," he said, his concern evident.
"It's fine," I reassured him. "It was just an accident."
"I hope you're not hurt," he asked, still worried.
"No, I'm okay. But, I think I've seen you before," I said, pointing at his hands telling him to remove.
Before he could respond, a voice called out sharply, "Mayaankkk!"
I turned and saw who had called him. My heart raced, and I pushed past the man who had helped me and fled from the café as quickly as I could, not wanting to be seen.
Back in my room, I locked the door and sank into a chair, panting heavily. I took a few deep breaths and drank some water.
It was him—the man I hoped never to see again. Why does he appear wherever I go? It's as if the universe delights in throwing him into my path.
i mean fine if it's his cafe but why only when i am there why not some other time
ughhhhh
Frustrated and exhausted, I crawled into bed. I had no one to share my thoughts or the day's adventures with. Yashi was away, and my family—well, I couldn't call my sister, my mother, or my father, and my brother would just tease me. Typical Indian brothers, always ready to mock.
Sniffling, I ordered a black coffee to my room. My head throbbed with pain, and I hoped sleep would offer some respite from the day's trials.
