Smoke by Daughter.
Never thought I'd be able to speak in front of someone I barely trust, someone like Stiles and his father; but I guess they know that I'm stuck in my comfort zone.
I never wanted to become like this, a quiet girl; someone who never speak their mind and always like to think out loud. I never wanted to look soo vulnerable in the eyes of the people surrounding me; but I guess my fate is to become the darkness of my own life.
I looked up in the mirror and scrunched up my hair, yawning. My reflection in the mirror is not shocking anymore, in fact I got used to it.
The bags under my bloodshot eyes made my translucent skin exalt, just like my chapped pale lips.
I lick my lips, wetting the bottom part as I leaned on the sink. I opened the faucet and scooped the water with my hands, splashing it all over my face, making me groan from the coolness.
I looked up and saw water dripping from my chin. I noticed the small scar on my jaw.
Flashback of that night came flooding back. He didn't mean it. I continued on reapting it to myself; he was just drunk and careless, my father wouldn't do that. But yet he did.
I shook the memories away as I closed the faucet and dabbed my face with a dry cloth.
I plugged in my earphones on my ears as I pressed play on my old mp3 player. I folded up my sleeves and got in to work.
Crouching down to the cabinet, I pulled out a pan as I laid it on the stove top. Jamming my way to the fridge, I opened it and rummaged for some eggs and bacons.
I always enjoyed cooking, since I was a little. My mom would always sit me on the counter top and I would always help her to cook. Little did I know that one day, all the things my mom taught me to do, would be helpful; just like when my dad and I lived by ourselves.
I would always prepare him something to eat, even though he came home late drunk so that he sleeps and forget about the dinner.
I couldn't dissobey, cause if I do, he'd be adding other scrathes and bruises on my body.
As I finished the bacons, I sensed some motions behind my back. I unplugged my earbuds and turned around; A gasp escaped from my mouth as a shouting Stiles made his way to the plate behind the stove.''Goodmorning!''
His fingers snaked towards the bacons on the pate, but I slapped them harshly. ''Hey!'' He whined as he rubbed his hands, pouting. ''They're not for you!'' I argued as I turned off the fire and settled the last pieces of bacon on the plate. I took the food and set them on the table.
''Goodmorning kids!'' A cheerful voice boomed through the hallway which seperated the kitchen from the dining room.Mr. Stilinski, with his usual uniform, sat next to Stiles and opened his newspaper.
''Hmm.. Who cooked this?'' He hummed in pleasure as he settled down for a minute his newspaper to take a bite from his plate.
''Hey why does he get a special breakfast except for me?'' Stiles protested as he tried to snatch a bacon from his dad's plate, but Linden managed to smack his son's hands away from it.
''Paws off!'' He exclaimed. I chuckled as I got up from my chair and took a plate and my mug from the counter top. ''Here you go.'' I mumbled as I placed the plate full of bacon and eggs in front of Stiles.
I examined his look as his eyes glowed in adoration, like a kid in a christmas day. I smiled as I took a sip from my tea. I sat at the end of the table and enjoyed the comfrotable silent between us three.
