SONG: THE GRUDGE; OLIVIA RODRIGO

It was the next day and Bethany still could not get over the fact that Brock Purdy is swooning over her.

It was a practice day for the players which means that Bethany only had to go into work for a while to get all of her edits approved by the heads. However, Bethany decided to stay late and get a head start on some of the work that would be waiting for her later in the week.

"I'm parched."

Bethany reaches for her water bottle and goes to take a sip from it only to realize it was bone dry.

"Life is so hard sometimes.", Bethany dramatically states before leaving her office and heading to the cafeteria to refill her water. As she was walking to the cafeteria she felt like the air was off but shook it off figuring it was because she was alone.

Bethany makes it to the cafeteria, refills her water bottle, and makes it back to her office.

TIME SKIP >>>

It's about an hour later and Bethany had gotten ahead on a lot of work making her feel very accomplished. Bethany starts to pack up her stuff to head out but when she goes to grab her keys she realizes she only has the keys and not the lanyard.

I love that lanyard.

Bethany realizes she probably dropped it when she was refilling her water. She steps out of her office to go and grab her lanyard but the second both of her feet cross the threshold leaving her office the air felt even more off. It felt still. Like in a horror movie when it's really quiet but you know something is gonna pop out. But what was going to pop out at Bethany? She had to be the last person there.

Bethany begins to walk to the cafeteria but a pit in her stomach grows with every step she takes.

Why did I watch Black Phone last night?

Bethany shakes off her thoughts and successfully retrieves her lanyard, shoves it in her pocket, and begins to head back to her office.

No one in a scary mask is going to pop out at you Bethany.

RIght as Bethany was about to reach for the door handle of her office door a hand grabs her shoulder and turns her to face the source of the arm.

Nick Bosa.

He doesn't need a mask.

"Let go of me."

Nick just stares down at Bethany.

"I'm not scared of you Nick."

"Why were you out with the girls yesterday?"

"Why do you care?"

"Are you seeing somebody?"

"No."

I'm not lying.

"Then why were you with them?"

"I don't know, they just invited me to go out with them."

"Yeah, right."

Nick shoves Bethany into her office door and storms off leaving the stadium.

I can hear my heart.

Bethany's breathing begins to quicken and her knees begin to feel weak.

No. Not now. Not here.

Bethany's body begins to shake from the tears that are uncontrollably falling from her eyes. Bethany's legs give out from under her and she falls to the floor pulling her knees into her chest crumbling into a helpless ball. Bethany puts her head down and squeezes her eyes shut hoping she can open her eyes and wake up from this nightmare. Bethany was all alone. All she wanted was to be held and for someone to tell her everything was gonna be okay.

Bethany feels a gentle touch on her left shoulder.

"I'm here."
