The next day, the manor received a distress call. Gladstone. You knew instantly that it was the 'Lucky' episode, and were excited to get to the glamorous city of Macaw before heading to Scrooge's spin-off adventure about a singing golden cricket. You also recalled how he tried to do this fifty years ago, but just never had the time since McDuck Enterprises was just starting to grow.

As the kids stared out the window at the neon lights below, Donald complained about his lucky cousin.

"He's the worst," Donald squawked as he slumped in his chair, "Just the worst."

"Gladstone Gander is a complete layabout," Scrooge concurred, "I don't know why we're responding to his call."

"It was a call for help!" Webby offered helpfully, though Scrooge had obviously meant for the question to be rhetorical.

"And like Uncle Donald says, 'Family always helps family,'" Huey finished happily, much to Donald's dismay. He grumbled as he tried to sink further into his seat.

"Plus, he's easily our coolest uncle!" Louie announced. You shot him a sharp glare. "Sorry, coolest non-trillionaire uncle."

"Louie!" You scolded. "Your Uncle Donald is one of the coolest ducks on this earth!"

"Thanks, Aunt (Y/n)," Donald murmured as the plane sank to the ground. Launchpad half landed half crashed into the water below, but managed to pull up to a stop on the docks of Macaw right in front of an enormous, glittering building.

Not long after landing, Launchpad had gone off to visit an old local girlfriend while the rest of you made your way to the elevator of the casino. Louie was fretting over his outfit as his uncles tried to calm him down by insisting that Gladstone wasn't as great of a person as the kids were making him out to be. You hated to agree, but watching Gladstone when he was little had been a right pain in your behind.

As the elevator came to a stop near the top floor, the doors slid open silently. From inside, you could hear screaming, an instant trigger for the entire family as you all dashed into the casino while Gladstone called out for help. However, when you made your way to him, you found that he was just being overly dramatic about a massage that a large, intimidating panda was providing him. As the lucky duck looked up, he hopped off the massage table and strolled over to your group.

"Kids!" Gladstone called as he wrapped his robe around his white feathered body. "Uncle Scrooge! Aunt (Y/n)! D-Money! I was so relaxed I didn't hear you come in. Pei Pei here is a miracle worker-" he showed off his massage therapist like a trophy- "Anyway, welcome to Macaw! Help yourself to everything!"

Sure, the casino was cursed, but you had to admit it was gorgeous. You were in Gladstone's room, which seemed to be customized to his own taste. Everything was green and gold, though it retained the elegant Chinese design throughout the room. One entire wall was made of windows that gazed out on the neon city, the others were all made to look like they were a type of ancient playing card. The floor and roof, you noted, were the same. Leave a lack of taste to a spirit of luck and fortune.

"So..." Donald approached his brother as the kids ran off to entertain themselves with the window wall, pretending that they were falling over the city on the slanted glass. You shivered at the sight. "I thought you needed help."

"Oh, I do need your help," Gladstone said. You saw Pei Pei turn towards you from your periphery. "Spending all my winnings!"

Donald's brother pointed down at a massive pool of casino chips beneath him. He dove in, mimicking the way Scrooge dove into his money Bin, and swam around in the chips while Scrooge watched in distaste. You stifled a laugh and tried not to feel bad about the glare Scrooge gave you.
