Luckily, Goldie hadn't hit you too hard. You only had to take it easy for around a month before you were back on your feet and ready to adventure. However, Donald was insistent that you needed to stay out of trouble, and followed you everywhere.
"Donald, come on-"
"Do you want tea?" He coddled. "A blanket?"
"Donald!"
"Can't you just sit down?"
You tried to make for the doors of the manor, thinking that if you could at least get out of the mansion then maybe you could get Donald off of your tailfeathers. However, as you reached the entrance, a loud crash came from outside and the doors swung inward. Scrooge swaggered in with handfuls of jewels and gold while the boys and Webby waddled in behind him. In the yard, a giant beanstalk was collapsed over the statue in the center of the roundabout.
"Ha!" Scrooge grinned. "Remember the old saying, kids. Beans, beans, the magical fruit, just plant your beans and grab some loot!"
"Man, I've been saying that all wrong," Dewey said as he, Huey, and Webby hauled in a massive golden coin.
"Don't worry, Uncle Scrooge!" Louie said. "We'll take this-" He leaned against the coin- "So you don't throw out your old man back."
The old billionaire laughed, "Nice try, lad, but you know the drill! All treasure goes to the Bin-"
Louie sighed, "Not next of kin."
"What!" Your hands flew to your hair. "I missed Jack and the Beanstalk!?"
Attention turned to you as Beakley began collecting the treasure, scooping up the massive coin that took all of the kids strength easily in one hand. Louie quirked a brow.
"How do you know Jack?"
You stood, dumbfounded, as Launchpad called out from the yard.
"The beanstalk missed the orphanage!"
"What are you doing out here?" Scrooge scolded. "Shouldn't yeh be resting?"
"A month!" You shouted. "It's been a month! I'm fine!"
"The board of directors called," Beakley said as she nodded to Lena, who walked in the front door and went to Webby. "They say your recent adventures are causing costly damages to the city of Duckburg."
Scrooge stood up straighter as Beakley took his treasure, both from the weight of it and, you assumed, his dignity.
"Which I always pay for! Adventure leads to treasure, treasure helps the company, the company helps the town through appreciating investments in long-term civic fiduciary interests."
Beakley looked to you with half-closed eyes. "Yes, what's not to understand? The Board has set up an interview with Roxanne Featherly to boost your character."
"My character does not need boosting!" Scrooge argued. Beakley hummed with disinterest.
"Of course not. Ms. (L/n) is requested as well, as your partner. The two of you have conjured up quite the image and it will be a good start to get (Y/n) back on her feet."
"Yes!" You punched air. "Horrible adventure but better than nothing. Let's get ready!"
You went back up to your room in a hurry, eager to do, quite literally, anything. You put on your most typical outfit of a sweater vest and blouse, which Beakley had pointed out was the reason that Webby wore the same outfit, and began to brush your hair in the massive golden mirror as you sang.
"Look to the stars, my darling baby ducks," You realized you were singing the version that you used to sing to Della, Donald, and sometimes Gladstone, but continued anyways. "Life is strange and vast, filled with wonder and luck. Face each new sun with eyes brave and true, unafraid of the unknown, because I face it all-"
