COLBY
I got diagnosed with cancer and chose to go through chemotherapy. I was told I wouldn't lose my hair because of this thing called ice capping. But it didn't work. I was losing my hair in huge chunks and didn't know what to do.
"Sam-" I said, walking up to him with a clump of my hair in my hand.
"Oh fuck I'm so sorry Colby. Is it not working?" He asks me, clearly worried.
"No, this is what I was scared about Sam! I don't want to lose my hair!" My eyes were tearing up and Sam soon realised, pulling me into a hug.
"It's okay Colbs, we're in this together" he says, rubbing my back softly.
A few days later, I decided it was time to shave my hair. I sat in front of a sink as Sam helped me. We decided to record it to give the fans an update. I began to tear up again as I watched my hair drop the ground. Once he was done, I put my head in my hands, trying to hide the fact that I was crying from the camera. When I looked up, I was shocked to see Sam in the mirror, shaving his hair off.
"Sam-" I began.
"No its okay" he said, a single tear making its way down his face. He continued to shave his head as I broke down into tears. I'm so incredibly grateful for him you don't understand.
"Fuck Sam" I choked through sobs. He used his free arm and wrapped it around me.
"We're in this together Colbs" he says, finishing up his hair. He places the shavers down beside the sink and unplugs them as I put my elbows on the counter, putting my head back in my hands as I try and hold back sobs. I then felt two arms wrap around me from behind. "Colbs don't cry, you'll make me cry" he says through laughter. I stand up from my seat and turn around to face him, pulling him into the biggest hug ever.
"Thank you Sam. Thank you so much" I say through sobs. "You don't understand how grateful I am to have you by side" he rubs my back softly.
"You don't understand how grateful I am to be on your side" he responds, clearly in tears from the amount of sniffing he was doing.
"No Sam you actually don't understand. I love you so much man" I was genuinely so grateful for him. This man is my bestfriend and he is an amazing human for this.
"I love you too man" he tightens his grip around me. One day I will repay him. He deserves the world.
