Golden cage

The waves crashed against the cliff, you were staring at the beautiful blue of the sea. It calmed you, and, in a comforting way, it reminded you of something you quite couldn't remember, something from your past that made you have a light smile on your face. However, you now felt like a prisoner in a golden cage. All because he had seen something in you, something you yet didn't understand, however, it made you precious to him. What did you had that picked Doflamingo's interest?

The night was quick to come, as the stars began to shine, although the land darkened in your eyes. A woman approached you from behind.

"Y/N, you should go to your chambers, its getting dark"

You turned your head and looked at her. She was one of the few people you had seen since your stay at this castle. Violet, she was very nice to you. "Yes, in a minute, I just wanted to watch the stars for a little while"

"Even though the stars are beautiful tonight, you shouldn't disobey the young master's commands" she said. "You know he'll get very angry if he finds out"

You sighed and followed the woman inside. The woman saw your saddened expression, she knew you were not that comfortable there, isolated from the world, but she also knew not to defy Doflamingo's orders.

"Hey, you know Doflamingo is strict on you because he is worried about your safety, right? But, maybe he is a bit too much. I promise you, one of these days, you and I will sneak at night, and watch the stars together. How does that sound?"

You looked at her, excited at the idea. Since your stay here a few months ago, you were not permitted to go outside of the palace once the night began. You just wanted to breathe some fresh air, outside of the palace walls. You just wanted some freedom.

"Oh, yes please, I just want to do something different, and with your company, that is much better. You're like the only person I see, apart from that Trebol guy and the two staff girls that are always cleaning the palace"

"Hm, I guess your stay here is a bit lonely. But, as I said before, Doflamingo does this to protect you from the outside world. Who knows what could someone like a filthy pirate do to you?"

Violet and Trebol always told you how dangerous and evil most of the people were, and that if they saw in you what Doflamingo saw, they would do bad things. They treated you like a child, the only one that treated you with a bit of respect was Violet. But, you were indeed like a child sometimes, however, that was only because you were oblivious to the situation going on, you didn't even remember your past before the day you met him. The only thing you had from your past life, was a reddish woolen hat with long heart-shaped tips.

You always tried to remember the face of the man that gave you that hat, but you just weren't able to. You remembered when you first met Doflamingo, you had that wool hat on, and you were running from something, you just don't remember what it was.

You heard your name coming from a worried voice.

"Y/N !!!! Where are . . ."

You felt so tired from running that you couldn't even hear a thing, you were about to fall when somebody caught you mid air. With the last bit of strength you got left you looked up and saw your savior and captor.

His embrace felt warm, somehow, you felt safe, you didn't have to flee anymore, the chase was over. Having seen that woolen hat, the man's expression was serious, as if he was lost in his thoughts, however, after a few seconds, a devious smile formed on his face.
