LET THE WORLD BURN - Chris Grey

I look up to the light surface, watching the clouds move through the waves of the water. My vision blurs as my eyes begin to close. A loud crash sounds throughout the water. I can't open my eyes no matter how hard I try, my soul pries at my eyes but nothing budges. I feel the weight lift off of my body, floating in endless nothing. Just before my mind finds peace in the situation, I feel something, warmth, body, just something. I feel my body begin to race, ears popping once more as my arms float. Suddenly I feel something else, there's no more nothing, no more floating, no more darkness. I begin to hear, screams and rants, cries filling my ears. Until all of a sudden, I wake up. My eyes shoot open as I gasp for air, gripping onto the hands that hold me. I close my eyes tightly, coughing up liquids. I open my eyes and see a pool of medium red, not dark enough to be crimson liquid in the grass. I look around and see my members, I count each head and smile at the fact everyones ok. "I shouldn't have left you- I'm so sorry- I was scared I-" Words fill my ears as I attempt to focus on the boy next to me, Han Jisung. "Hannie its ok, everyones ok, don't worry." I attempt to reassure him. "YOU ALMOST DIED! NOTHINGS OK!" He explodes, tears streaming down his face. "Hannie.." I coo as Minho comes up and brings Han to an empty part of the meadow.  I sigh, trying to sit up when I'm stopped by a pain in my lungs and thigh. I whine at the pain as I slow down, trying to inch myself up in a way that doesn't hurt. Once I'm up I turn to my left to see Chan, drenched and cold, with tears in his eyes and down his face. I take time to inspect every part of him, realizing how wet he is compared to the others. "Did you save me?" I ask him, putting a hand on his face. "Im so sorry Jisu. Im so incredibly sorry." For the first time I don't silence at the sound of my name, the memories don't linger, the only one filling my mind is Chan. "Chan-" Before I can speak, he leans in, crashing his lips on mine and moving us in sync. I kiss back, savoring the moment before its over. He pulls away and leans his forehead on mine. "I can't believe I almost lost you." he whispers as his tears fall on my cheeks. He backs up and looks at my leg, not allowing himself to look at me. "Seungmin patched up your leg while you were out. I told everyone to leave you alone for now." He speaks as I hum, inspecting his every move and hidden tone. "Channie?" I speak and he hums, keeping his eyes on my leg. "Why won't you look at me?" his eyes temporarily widen before he looks up, staring at me with soft eyes. "Because this whole thing solidified my suspicions." I furrow my eyebrows, trying to slowly get myself to stand as I ask him another question. "What suspicion?" Chan stands up and walks closer to me, taking me in his arms as he holds eye contact with me. "I'd let the world burn for you." I feel my cheeks burn and my heart begin to race. Is this how it feels to be loved? "Ji!" Hyunjin calls me with tears in his eyes as he and the rest of the members run to us. Hyunjin cups my face and rubs our noses together, holding me closely and sharing his warmth with me. He opens his eyes and meets my gaze with a look similar to Chans, yet differing in uniqueness. "I want to stand." I speak softly, turning to Chan. "Are you sure?" I nod and he hums, gently placing me down and steadying me by my waist. "Are you ok?" I nod, thanking him. I hug everyone and we begin talking, trying to get our minds off of this horrible reality. Suddenly the ground starts shaking. Chan shoots up from the ground and holds me in his arms, hiding me behind his back. The members follow after him, letting us all huddle together. "Well wasn't that cute?" The kings voice echoes through the sky and I roll my eyes, looking down. We were so close to freedom.. "Now I would love to keep you but it appears as though you're too boring for me now." The king speaks nonchalantly. "Though I do love hearing your screams." He laughs and a loud beep echoes around us. I step away from Chan, looking up and seeing the grey sky start to malfunction, blackening in squares and blueing in others. "Guys." They turn to me as I keep my gaze upwards. "Look." They all turn and look to the sky, seeing the same absurd view that I see. "We're in a simulation." As soon as those words leave my mouth the sky turns black and everything leaves my vision. I put my hand in front of my face but see nothing, sending chills down my spine. Ive always hated the dark after everything I've been through. The memories of me falling on the dark hallway floors screaming for help rushing in and out of my head. "Guys?" Everyone answers, searching for each other through the darkness. I feel around and touch someone, "Its Ji, who am I touching?" "Changbin, Im going to pull you towards me ok?" I hum and he gently tugs on my arm, leading me towards him. He pulls me in his arms and holds me closely, waiting cautiously. "Is everyone still here?"I ask and hear a bunch of yes's. "Say your names, just to be sure." "Chan" "Changbin" "Hyunjin" "Minho" "Felix" "I.N" "Han" "Where's Seungmin?" I ask as the trees start to rustle, heavy winds blowing our way. "Seungmin!" I yell but get no response. Where the fuck is he?
