CHAPTER9|AVERY STIRLING
"Quinn I swear to god if you don't get here right now I am going to throw all of your cassette tapes out of the window." I shout through the phone
I refused to walk outside of this apartment by myself after that party. Who would possibly want to kill someone at a book publishing party. I mean I could come up with numerous answers but I don't think they're very good
The first reason would have to be because of Jaxon who killed Quinn's father because he takes revenge for his girlfriend very seriously. Another reason is because they are psychopaths. The other because they might have come to the wrong place. And that was all I came up with
But long story short I could've died at a young age last night. I plan on getting married, not living in a grave turning into a pile of dust. A knock sounds on the door and for a moment I thought I was about to die but when I opened the door no one was there
Poking my head outside of the door I see no one. The halls were empty and the only sound I could hear was classical music. That music pissed Quinn off everyday and it made my day all of the time. Looking down I notice a rose
It was dead. The rosy color was gone and replaced with a dark purple and black. Some petals fell but some were wet just like the thorns. Carefully I picked it up and once I saw a red liquid on the tips of my fingers I dropped it. The crazy part about this is that I hadn't pricked my finger. It was someone else's blood
Instead of waiting on Quinn I grabbed my things and ran out of the place. While riding in the elevator I made sure to stay as far away from people as possible thinking they'd try something. I didn't feel safe here anymore. I wanted to go home but I also wanted to continue doing what I loved the most
There was a cafe across the street from this building so that's exactly where I went instead of heading to Quinn. She'll be hearing it from me. The girl is spending some time with her boyfriend who apparently didn't go back home with Estella and Wyatt. After waiting some time in line I order a coffee before going to sit at a table
My phone rings and it's Quinn calling me back,"Tell me you didn't throw out my precious babies." she cried
I could hear her practically scrambling out of the door. At first I was gonna tell her I didn't but now I feel a little evil. Since she wanted to take forever to come to me and let me suffer I will do the same
"Too late. Better get Jaxon to get you brand new ones." I tease
A gasp was heard from her and I almost laughed but held it in."Avery June Stirling please tell me you're joking." she begged
My coffee cup gets placed on the table and I smile a little."Quinn it's 2024 not 1992." I roll my eyes before looking up at the waiter who just stood there but my smile dropped when I noticed who stood near me
Quinn was still talking on the other end going on a rant about how she likes cassette tapes more than using headphones and going on music apps. And I felt like I was about to get murdered right here right now
"It's been a while," he said before placing his hands in his pockets."Don't you think Avery?."
I couldn't say anything because what I really wanted to do was scream from the top of my lungs. He was around all of the time bothering Quinn and now here he is in the new year. And he's somehow found his way near me,"I'd prefer it to stay that way."
My phone was still near my ear and now I couldn't hear a thing from the other end just the sound of cars. A slight smirk appeared on his lips before he looked out of the window and back at me. Turning around I looked to see what he was staring at and there she was. Wearing all black sprinting across the street. Quinn Thatcher
