Hazeldusk leaped into the shadows as a vulture swooped by, blank eyes ever searching for a carcass to feast on.
Despite the blazing atmosphere of Geodeclan, a chill ran down his spine.
This was the very place where it had all started.
The Clone Wars.
"Is there something wrong, sir?" Cody, the leader of his battalion asked when he stared at the towering spire buildings.
"Nothing," Hazeldusk tried to keep his pelt smooth; he could feel the whispers of the dead calling out to him, spiteful of their deaths, unable to move on.
"Stay alert. We've got a spider to catch."
A year ago, the Battle of Geodeclan took a lot of Dawnclan lives. The tragedy was carefully planned and escalated by Frostshard himself, yet the nightmare was far from over.
Many still trembled with fear whenever the spider's name was mentioned, about how his path would be marked with demise whenever he showed his face, a skull of a face with beady yellow eyes, ever-clacking pincers, poison venomous enough to strangle a badger...
Currently, this monster was lurking in the shadows of where it had all begun, and this might be their last chance of turning the tide around.
'Horizonstar's doing his job on Tribe Willow... I might as well as accomplish mine.'
He recalled the vow of not letting Frostshard kill more Republic lives, but failed with blood on his paws.
The blood of innocents, victims of the war.
He wasn't going to let that happen again.
'We will end this chaos, and relieve everyone from this nightmare, once and for all.'
"It won't be long before the armies of the Republic track us here." Grievous snarled at the Separatist leaders, currently taking refuge in Geodeclan.
"I am sending you to the Mustafar system, hidden from view of the towering points of Sky Mountain."
"You will be safe there."
Some of the cats gave each other uneasy glances; there was a reason why that part of the territory was abandoned by both sides. Mustafar was a place of ash and fire, a place of death.
In the heart of Mustafar, was a long slumbering volcano; no cat knew when it would explode, for it had been inactive for decades.
Some say when the evil spirit of the volcano awakens, the Galaxy will go up in flames.
Some even say it was the portal to the Dark Forest itself.
"Safe?" Russetstar hissed at the spider. "Chancellor Pebblepatch managed to escape your grip, General."
"Right," another Separatist agreed with the she-cat. "Without Count Frostshard, I have doubts about your ability to keep us safe."
Grievous narrowed his eyes as the others shared hushed agreements timidly.
'Cowards. The whole Kriffing lot of them.'
'That's it. I'll prove I'm a scary leader as much as that white cat was.'
Quick as a flash, Grievous lunged for Russetstar, tightening his talon-like claws around the she-cat's throat.
Russetstar let out a strangled scream, thrashing wildly to free herself from the death grip, while the spider stared at the bristling cats menacingly.
