At nightfall, Iris felt almost back to normal. Her chest had stopped hurting after a good rest. The failed attempt to contact the Ark through the wristbands left her feeling restless and bored, and she needed something to keep her mind from spiraling. Deciding she needed to release some stress, she went to find Mia.

When Iris walked into the tent, she found Mia facing away, taking off a sweatshirt, which caused her shirt to rise and reveal her stomach. Without a second thought, Iris silently approached and wrapped her arms around Mia's waist.

"Hey, Williams," Iris greeted, her voice low and teasing.

The blonde turned around with a smirk, her eyes flicking between Iris's lips and her blue eyes. "Hey, Thornton. Feeling better already?" she asked, grabbing Iris's waist and slowly backing toward the makeshift bed.

"You have no idea," Iris replied with a shrug, her hands roaming down to Mia's ass and roughly grabbing it as their lips met in a heated exchange.

After a few passionate rounds, Mia was soundly asleep, while Iris lay beside her in a state between wakefulness and sleep. That was until shouts echoed throughout the camp, jolting Iris awake. She quickly put on her pants and a random sweatshirt before rushing outside.

Everyone was looking at the sky, and Iris followed their gaze. A streak of light, similar to a shooting star, was descending rapidly. As it neared, it became clear that it was a pod sent from the Ark.

Bellamy, as usual, dismissed everyone and declared they would go investigate at sunrise. But Iris didn't like following rules. Determined, she returned to Mia's tent to grab her gun and set out immediately to investigate.

"What's going on?" Mia asked groggily, awakened by the commotion outside.

"A pod fell, probably from the Ark, not too far from camp. We're supposed to check it out at sunrise," Iris replied, tucking the gun into her trousers.

Mia frowned, already knowing Iris's intentions. "But you're going now, aren't you?"

Iris sighed and nodded. "Yeah, I have to. If anyone gets there first, we could lose our chance to contact the Ark."

Mia nodded, sitting up on the bed and motioning for Iris to come closer. Iris reluctantly did. "Just be safe," Mia whispered, concern evident in her eyes.

Iris nodded and kissed Mia's lips softly. "Always."

With a final glance at the sleeping Mia, Iris slipped out of the tent and into the night, determined to reach the pod and secure whatever message or supplies it carried before anyone else. The forest was dark and foreboding, but Iris's resolve was unwavering. This was their chance to reconnect with the Ark, and she wouldn't let it slip away.
