As the night dragged on, the brunette lay restless, her gaze fixed on the sky. She wondered if the flares they had sent up had managed to save the people on the Ark.
A sudden snap of a branch broke her train of thought. She turned to see the Blake boy approaching, a torch flickering in his hand. She sighed, not in the mood for whatever complaint he was about to bring up.
"Hey, have you seen Octavia?" Bellamy asked, his eyes tinged with worry.
Iris frowned in confusion. "No. Is she okay?"
Bellamy ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "I don't know. I've circled the camp three times and still can't find her."
Iris quickly got to her feet, grabbing a torch. "Come on, we'll search again. I'll help you look for her."
The two scoured the camp for Octavia, and soon Clarke joined them, but she was nowhere to be found. Growing desperate, Bellamy gathered everyone together, announcing his sister's disappearance and urging them to arm up and start the search. Iris was one of the first to volunteer, urging everyone to hurry.
As they were about to leave the camp, their attention was drawn to the sky, where white lights were falling like shooting stars. Iris's face immediately darkened with concern.
"The flares didn't work," Raven said, staring up at the sky.
Bellamy turned to her, confused. "A meteor shower tells you that?"
"It's not a meteor shower," Clarke replied, her voice heavy with frustration and sorrow. "It's a funeral—hundreds of bodies being returned to the earth from the Ark."
Iris's eyes blazed with anger. "This is on you, you idiot."
Raven joined in, pointing at Bellamy accusingly. "This is all your fault!"
Clarke restrained her, reminding them that Bellamy would have to live with the consequences. Iris thought it was a weak excuse for that big of a fuck up, but her mind was already shifting back to finding Octavia.

After searching for some time, Iris and Bellamy descended a small hill, where they stumbled upon fresh footprints. Finn, the expert tracker, analyzed the tracks and concluded that a Grounder had likely carried Octavia away; some of the prints were deeper than others, indicating a struggle.
The group followed the determined brunettes, their torches lighting the way, until they arrived at an ominous entrance to Grounder territory. Human skeletons hung from the trees, a grim warning to intruders.
