As I helped Jane pack, Jane started talking "promise, you're gonna write or call, I don't think I can make it a whole year without my best friend" Jane confirmed. "Yeah.. yeah of course why wouldn't I" I questioned while turning away from the box I was packing. "I don't know, just wanted to make sure, I don't really...have a lot of...friends like you. I don't wanna lose you."
Jane confessed, I was fully turned around now "Don't worry about it, I won't ever stop being your friend, okay?" Jane nods while looking down at the roll of tape in her hand that she's fidgeting with. "Come on, lets take these boxes to moving truck" I tilt my head to the door and pick up the box in front of me and she picks up random box and goes to the truck with me.
"You guys should say your goodbyes we're about to leave" Joyce informs us. I turn to Jane and she pulls me into hug and I hug back. "I'm gonna miss you, so much" Jane says, while her head is tucked into the crook of my neck "I'll miss you too" I say back. We hold the hug for a little too long. We both pull away from the hug. "Promise to write" I say to Jane while she walking to her car "Promise." Jane answers as she gets into her car. The engine starts. And my best friend is gone.
