We walk to Jane's car climbing in. "why did you drop my hand" i ask confused. Jane looks at me "my family doesn't exactly... like you" Jane explains and pulls out the driveway. "why don't they like me?" I ask. "after you ditched me I was destroyed for like 2 months it was like the lowest point of my life and they had to watch me go through that" Jane says as she turns the steering wheel. "did they know you had a crush on me?" i ask. "Before I fucking knew they did. especially will, he's been through this with a best friend. My mom and dad figured out later. I'm surprised it took me telling you for you finally notice"
Jane says like it was the most obvious thing in the world. To be honest I'm surprised too.
"when did you know" i ask out of the blue. Jane looks over, "what?" she questions. "when did you know you liked me? i repeat. "Damn you're curious," Jane chuckles. "Oh sorry, i want to know how long my best friend was in love with me" I say offended, Jane grabs my hand. "okay, okay..." Jane looks up in thought.
"do you remember that kitten that we took in?" she asks. i nod "admiral turbo meowington, of course" I say nonchalantly. Jane chuckles, "it was the way you took care of that cat, like it was everything in the world. That was what made me realize" Jane says fondly. I smile, "that's so adorable, you're just adorable" i say.
"you're adorable too, have been for 14 years.... anyways! we are here so lets go get your clothes." jane says and unbuckles her seat belt. I look out the window to my shitty ass trailer. "do we have too?" i beg, "Yes we do, it's not gonna be like usual she isn't here" Jane points out. I roll my eyes and step out the car with Jane.
