(As the title says, this is the scene where John first meets Seraphina, and I wanted to get this one out first since it isn't that different, but the thoughts in John's head and his actions are, so yeah.)

'It's good that I got the last chocolate cake... I hope it's worth the time in line.' John thought to himself as he stared blankly at the triple chocolate cake that he managed to get from the cafeteria, a food that was only served once a month at the cafeteria, at least that's what he remembered hearing. The cafeteria was filled with students, talking, and noise, something that John had grown to avoid even though he didn't really care for it. John didn't particularly care about the cake either, even though he was used to seeing a lot of people fight in the cafeteria for it. He just wanted to know why the hell people were making such a big fuss over something like a cake. John thought the mango boba that he usually got as a reward for decent grades tasted alright, but he wasn't gonna fight over something so stupid.

But John was cut out of his thoughts by a demanding voice behind him. "Hey."

John turned around to face a girl with pale purple hair that was tied into a ponytail, and bright blue eyes that were quite stern. Her arms were crossed, and she spoke once again with a stern expression. "I want that cake of yours. Give it to me." She demanded, her hand held out for the cake as if she wasn't asking for it, but telling him to give it up.

John didn't move to hand her the cake, not because he didn't want to, since he really couldn't care less about it, but he couldn't stop staring at her face. It was like his whole world had stopped as soon as she came into his view, like a moth to a beautiful flame. His heart began to race as his chest got a weird feeling in it that he couldn't describe. What was going on? What was this feeling? Was it even a feeling? He wouldn't know, but he knew it wasn't sickness making him feel weird, but he didn't know what was causing it in the first place!

'One day, you will meet someone special...' His mother's words rang through his head, her voice he had long forgotten, but her words stuck to him like super glue. 'One day you will meet someone who will make you feel complete... You will know who it is when you see them... Trust me...'

Was... Was this the girl...? Was this the girl that would save him from the nothing in his heart...?

It felt like it was, because the more he looked at her, the more that feeling in his heart grew, and John could feel his face turning red. This... This has to be her, right? He had never felt this before, not to anyone except for her! She has to be the one!

Apparently he had been staring for too long, because the girl spoke up with more annoyance. "Did you hear me? Give me that cake." She demanded once again, and other people began to look in their direction.

John blinked slowly as he realized that he was staring for too long, quickly reaching his hand out to give her the cake. If this was the one girl that could save him...

Unfortunately, he moved a bit too quickly, and he accidentally dropped the cake. John looked at the smushed cake on the floor, his shoulders tensing. "Oops." He quickly muttered. It was just a cake. Surely she wouldn't be too mad.

But as soon as he looked up, he was suddenly knocked into the wall, a small crator behind him where his body hit. The side of his face slowly began to drip with his own blood as he tried to get his bearings... Well, maybe he was wrong...

He felt a hand grab onto his collar, and he was met with the girl's face once again. "How dare you!" The girl smacked him across the face, and he grunted as his head snapped back from the force. Yep. That would definitely be a bruise soon. "I have worked so hard my entire life, and THIS is what I get!?" Another slap. "You don't GET to stand above me, you fucking CRIPPLE!" John didn't move the whole time she was slapping him, and when it was done, and he finally looked up, he saw that the girl was crying with tears running down her face, which now looked frustrated and upset. John couldn't help but think that she looked so beautiful when she cried...

John knew he probably should be mad or upset that he was being hurt, even though he was physically incapable of feeling those things, but he had a feeling that the feeling that was almost overwhelming him at this point wasn't rage or hurt... He wanted to comfort the girl. The feeling felt so new to him. Wanting to comfort someone other than the idea that that's what a person with feelings would do... But that wasn't it. That was pretending. This felt so... Genuine? Was this what his mother meant by "complete"? He... He liked it. He liked this feeling... It wasn't hollow. It felt good... No, it felt INCREDIBLE! How the hell had he managed to go so long without this feeling?!

The girl eventually stopped and left rather swiftly while others began to whisper amongst themselves, and John watched her do it with a smile. A genuine smile. He knew it now... She was the one who would complete him. There was no doubt in John's mind about that. He got up quickly, wanting to catch up to her, but one shoot of pain through his ribs told him that he wasn't going anywhere right now besides the nurses office.

He didn't care though. He didn't care that she had hurt him. He was too focused on the waves of what he assumed were emotions coursing through him, and he could barely feel the pain of his injury as his mind focused on her, and her alone.

'I found her...' He thought, clutching his chest tightly as he relished in these new feelings. 'I have to have her... I have to get close to her... I want to see everything about her...' He slowly managed to peel himself off the ground, and got to his feet, unable to stop smiling despite knowing that he probably looked a bit deranged to his peers right now. He didn't care.

'Her interests, her hobbies, her room, her parents, what she wears everyday, what she likes, all of it! I want to know all of it!' John thought, too jumpy with what he assumed was excitement to understand that his thoughts were rather creepy considering that he barely even knew the girl. 'I need to try... I'll be her friend, the best friend she'll ever have! Surely if I start from there, she'll feel the same way eventually... Right?'

John thought the idea was perfect enough. And if it wasn't, he'd make it work. He had to try... He couldn't accept anything less...

John made his way to the infirmary, ignoring the scathing glare he got from Doc as he sat down and waited to get a tonic for his injuries. He knew Doc was probably confused, since the normal emotionless husk that Doc was used to seeing wasn't there anymore, and in its place was a jumpy, blushing, and smiling mess. John didn't care though.

He had found his one and only. His Savior... And he was gonna try his hardest to be her one and only too... No matter the cost...

Authors note: I get that the writing is bad and not very descriptive right now, but hopefully that'll change and I can be more descriptive with other ideas. I didn't wanna go too in depth on saying the emotions John was feeling until near the end because I thought that John wouldn't know how to describe something he's never felt before, and it's from John's POV, so I thought it made sense. :p
