*On a phone call with Dom*

"So what exactly happened" Dom asked

 We were just talking and chilling we both fell asleep and when I went to leave she gave me a hug and we almost kissed

"Nigga what do you mean almost" he asked confused 

"You pussy'd out didn't you" he started laughing 

Mane it's not funny she has a husband and you of course know that I am happily married I said as I smiled

"Nigga do I need to slap you" he looked me dead in the eyes

No. 

Why are you getting all violent I asked 

"CHRIS SHE IS GONE YOU NEED TO LEAVE HER TRIFILING ASS IN THE PAST" he started to raise his voice at me

"There's a girl out here that actually is interested in you, but you're still stuck on a girl who didn't give af about you" He said

"IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON CHRIS" Dom yelled

Mane whatever I rolled my eyes

"Now go apologize to that girl and ask her on a damn date," he said

We haven't spoken since Saturday I don't know if she's gonna want to talk to me I said while pacing back n forth in my office

"Well you mentioned you wanted to hang out with Braxton right," he asked

Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything

"Ask to take them out for ice cream or sum shi mane," he said

Fine.

"Good. Now don't fuxk up this time." He said laughing

Chill man I got this I said

"For sure," he said sarcastically then hung up

I didn't have any appointments for the rest of the day so I left the office and drove home.

I sat down on my couch opened my phone and scrolled through Nina's and I's messages 

I found myself constantly smiling at her responses

As I scrolled I began to frown when I came to our most recent messages

I hate admitting that he's right but something is definitely there

I took a deep breath and decided to call her. No answer

Called again and on the second ring she picked up

And I heard the voice I had been missing for the past two weeks

"Hello," she said

Hey um Nina

"Oh hi Chris," she said surprised

Hey I said nervously 

"Did you need something" she asked

No. I said 

"So whats up" she asked 

I know it's been awhile since we talked and sorry for running out on you the other day, but i was just wondering....

"Yeah," she asked

If you and Braxton wanted to go out for ice cream this afternoon I asked

I can come pick you guys up

"Sure we'd love to go" she said 

"What time" she asked

I looked at my clock it was only five pm 

What about six I said 

"Six um I can do six"

Alright cool

So I guess I'll be seeing you guys at six

"Yes, you will," she said which made me smile

"Bye Chris"

she hung up

I mentally patted myself on the back so I can finally prove Dom wrong.
