A week had passed and Mila turned 17 yesterday. For her birthday, I took her out to dinner, (Bobby helped me pick the restaurant) and we had the most incredible time together. Mila was dressed in this deep blue dress that hugged her body in all the right places. I mean how did I deserve someone so beautiful? I swear I'm dating a supermodel. She had paired the dress with a long silver necklace and dangly earrings. I was dressed in a tight black dress that stopped at my knees and had a small slit (Athena and May helped me pick it out), which I had paired with silver a silver necklace, a bracelet Mila had made for me and small earrings.

We actually talked about our future. It warmed my heart that Mila wanted us to stay together and move in after college. I know we're only teenagers but as I've said before, this girl is something special. She's my Nick and I'm her Charlie. She's the gold to my silver, the vans to my converse. Mila is the one person who makes me feel complete. She's my other half.

I'm graduating high school in two months and then I'm off to college. I've earned a full ride scholarship to UCLA to study architecture while Mila is going there to study Biochemistry. So no, we won't be separated in the fall. And no, Maddie doesn't know about any of it. She hasn't contacted me since she left and I haven't tried to contact her in months. As for Chimney and Jee, well they are somewhere near Boston I think. Honestly, I don't really care. When Maddie got pregnant I almost disappeared a bit from her eyes. To be honest, we haven't spoken properly since the day she told me she was pregnant. I mean, I get that a new baby is exiting but she didn't talk to me for like a week after she told me. And then after that I got invisible. She didn't come home a lot and rarely talked to me when she did. Not to mention the "family dinner" she had with her parents, Buck and Howie that I wasn't even invited to. Mother of the year right?

When I woke up the morning after mine and Mila's date, I found Bobby sitting in the kitchen. I was usually the person who was up first in the morning so I was surprised to see him sitting at the table with a steaming mug of coffee.

"Oh hey Ellie." He said when he noticed me. "Slept well?"

I nodded and tilted my head slightly.

"Why are you up so early?" I quizzed him.

"Couldn't sleep." He chuckled lightly and took a sip from his mug.

I nodded and went to make myself a cup of coffee. That's another thing that Maddie had missed, the fact that I've started to drink coffee.

"Hey listen," Bobby started, an uncertainty in his voice that felt unfamiliar, "Chim called last night, after you went to bed."

I nodded absently. To be honest, I couldn't give a flying fuck if he called.

"Ellie," Bobby started, making me spin around to face him, "he found Maddie."

Great, just awesome. Especially when he had to find her, she wouldn't come home on her own.

"Great." I muttered and turned back to my coffee.

"She's in Boston but he isn't sure when she'll want to come home."

I rolled my eyes so he couldn't see it. If she didn't want to come home she shouldn't. I mean, she had two daughters now and she chose to stay away.

"You can stay here for as long as you want though." He continued. "If you feel it's hard to go back home, you can stay here until you go to uni. It's completely up to you."

I sighed and nodded before grabbing my mug and filled it with coffee.

"Thanks Bobby." I said, sitting down next to him.

We changed the subject after that. Bobby started talking about him having a night shift today so Athena would bring home pizza for dinner. I mean I love Athena, but her cooking doesn't even compare to Bobby's. May joined us soon after, followed by a very moody Harry. It's so weird to go from no family dynamic at the table to full on family mode. Harry and May are siblings to me and Bobby and Athena have acted more like my parents than Maddie and Howie has done.

After breakfast, Athena dropped me off at a cafe before going to run some errands. I was sitting at a corner table when I saw Caitlin enter. I raised my hand and waved her over. In response, she smiled and joined me.

"Hey kid, sorry I'm late." She said, dragging out her chair and sitting down.

"It's fine I don't mind." I smile and reach for the menu.

"So how's life?" She asked as she picked up her menu and started to skim through it.

"Uhh," I start, unsure of how to continue.

Caitlin, however, sensed my uncertainty and gives me a sad smile.

"Anything new about Maddie?"

I nodded slowly and purse my lips.

"Howie found her in Boston yesterday." I answer and put down the menu.

"That's good." Caitlin nods and places down her menu as well. "When is she coming back?"

"Don't know, don't care" I found myself muttering, a bit harsher than I wanted to.

Caitlin gave me a sad smile before sighing.

"But she might come home soon though. I think that's good." She told me.

No it's not good, I don't want her home anymore.

Another day another new chapter. I really like writing angst cuz I'm such an angry person irl lol. I thin I fucked us the end but it's okay.

So Ellie is furious with Maddie (as she should be) and doesn't want her home. So what will happen when she finally comes home? 😏😏😏😏😏😏
