Kavya's POV:
It was hard for me to control myself, so I started crying as there were no machines attached to me anymore. I cried while holding my knees. Then I saw the door open, revealing the person who hates me.
I looked into his eyes, but this time they held different emotions, not anger. He came towards me.

Abhimaan's POV:"Call your family now," I said while stuttering.
She looked down and said, "I can't."
"Call your mom. You always shared everything with her. Your family is so shameless that they don't care about their daughter. I can't leave you alone until your family members come," I said, trying to control my emotions.
She kept looking down,"My mom left the world a year ago."
Tears started forming in her eyes.I took a deep breath and asked, "What about your dad?"
"He is in jail. Six years ago, I filed a complaint against him at the police station before coming here. He was not my dad; he was just a sperm donor."
I sighed."You have a brother too, don't you?" I asked.
"He never contacted me after my mom died. He is living his life far away from everyone." she said in a sad tone.
"You have that friend Shree?" I asked again, hoping she would come and take care of her.
"She is married and moved to the USA. She has a child now, so we are not in contact much. She already did so many things for me that I don't want to burden her more."
Gosh, she is all alone."So, with whom do you live in your apartment?" I asked hesitantly, wondering if she had any boyfriend.
"I live in that luxurious apartment with my servants." She replied.
"Don't you have a boyfriend?"
"Nope, never ready for that. I don't believe in relationships anymore. There is no such thing as true or pure love. By the way, you were returning, right? So why are you asking me all these things?" She asked in a firm tone.
I never thought she was this alone in her life. I have everyone around me during bad times, but she has no one. I can see her fragile condition, but I have to set my ego aside and make a decision by any way.
I can't leave her alone in this condition. Whatever she did, she was my love, and maybe that's why I can't move on from her.
I know she is unaware of what's happening, but I can't bear to see her face this all alone. I've loved her for years, and if she has no one else, I want to be there for her.
"Marry me, Kavya. You were apologizing, so you can pay me back like this." I announced while staring at her directly into her eyes.
.
.
.
Kavya's POV:I was shocked. How can he ask me to marry him when he was leaving me just moments before?
"Don't make a decision out of pity, Maan. Sorry, Abhimaan. I handled everything alone before, and I'll spend my remaining years the same way," I said, looking straight into his eyes.
He held my palms in his long hands and said, "Kavya, the truth is I never moved on from you. My mom arranged dates for me, but I always sent Agastya instead. Each passing moment is a reminder of how lost I feel without you.Don't break my heart again. I am not doing this out of pity. My heart wants you. It always craves your presence in my life, which is why I never felt affection for anyone else. Many girls came into my life over the years, even for one-night stands, but I never touched any girl. I have been in love with you for the past 11 years. How long will you make me wait? I know I said things in anger because I was overwhelmed by various emotions. I miss the way we used to be. It's hard to imagine my future without you." His eyes grew teary.
I stared into his eyes and replied, "You are a prince and one of the famous businessmen in India. Your life is in the media. I am not worthy of it. I am not capable of your love, Maan."
"You are capable of more than you think," he said, cupping my face.
"Please, Kuku, agree to the marriage. I will never make you uncomfortable. I will even ask you for permission to hold hands. My mom and Agastya will be happy if they see you in my house. You broke my mom's heart too. She was so happy when she thought you would be her daughter-in-law. I know you love me, but you are just pushing it away because of your past." He said while shuttering and in requesting tone.
I replied,"Don't lie. Your mom thought I was not capable for you. Please, leave me alone."
I started tearing up."Kuku, you misunderstood. My mom was happy. I don't know what you are saying, but my mom was very happy. Can you elaborate?"
I nodded and started telling him, "I overheard your conversation with your mom..."
.
.
.Abhimaan's POV:
Oh gosh, she misunderstood everything. She left me because of that reason. I pulled her closer towards me and held her shoulders.
"You misunderstood the entire situation. My mom was worried about you, so she was telling me how I should handle the situation. As a mother, she wanted the best for her child. She was worried about your comfort, which is why she was saying you are different. She didn't want anyone to hurt you. You misunderstood everything and left me for that reason. Really, you broke my heart because you thought you were not capable of being with me. How could you do this? You should have talked to me. You even never shared your family troubles with me." I sighed.
She was staring me at me in regret. I can see regret in her eyes. I don't know why she thinks herself so inferior. I hope someday she can watch herself from my way.I saw her puffy eyes and her wobbling lips. She is so underweight. She has luxury but not peace. I did more workouts after she left me, and here she is, not even eating properly.
I suddenly pulled her into my embrace and hugged her while caressing her hair. She smelled like medicine. She fit in my arms perfectly, and she hugged me back too. She sacrificed her feelings for my reputation. The gem I got.
We remained silent for a while. It's hard to process all the things.
.
.
After some time, I found her snoring on my chest, so I settled her on the bed properly. I tucked a hair strand that was falling on her face behind her ear. After an hour, I had to wake her up because she was finally going to be discharged, but I have to keep her healthy and safe. I don't know what decision she will make.
I don't understand how a brother doesn't care for a sister like her, who thinks of everybody before herself.
