Catching up

Milk PoV

It has been a few days since I woke up, and I am still recovering. It was the most painful experience in my life when the virus tried to fight with my antibody. I wonder how Love had been fighting the virus before I found her. My heart still aches when I know she hurt a lot while searching for me. I know Love is a very independent woman, but I promised to take care of her, and all I do is hurt her.

Namtan asked me to rest for a few more days before working back in the lab, and I agreed instantly. I missed Love so much that I wanted her beside me all day. Everyone was so happy knowing I woke up already, and I, too, was happy that their body reacted well to the antidote I created.

I just wish I had a better lab to create a more perfect antidote. I wonder where the government is right now, and I know there must be a way to reach it. I never thought of it previously because I was searching for Love, but now she is okay. I must ensure our future is secure and we can distribute the antidote.

I was sitting on the sofa when Love came to me with a cup of water while smiling at me sweetly. Her wounds seem to heal quite fast, and I am glad she is no longer in pain. Until now, I still blushed, looking at her and smiling at me. I fell in Love with her the first time I was looking for a beauty product for my friend, and when Love introduced some products to me, I couldn't shake the feeling that she was the one. But at that time, I had no idea if she was with someone or single, so I stalked her IG daily and even went to her shop daily so that I could see her sweet face.Mind you, she is a small bean, as I am 1.7 meters and she's only 1.5 meters, but that makes me love her more. After six months, I decided to gather my courage to ask her out, and she gladly accepted my invitation. You don't even know how happy I am, and it took me five hours to choose the correct dress for our date.

We have been together for almost five years, and that's when the pandemic happened. When I returned to the apartment, I saw it was empty, and her phone was there. I panicked and quickly took anything important after I knew that we needed to evacuate our apartment.

"Milk.... what are you thinking about...." Love asked, scrunching her eyebrows, worried if I felt pain anywhere.

"Nothing, babe, just thinking about our first meeting until now. I am still sorry for leaving you that day. I should have not... I am sorry, Love," I said sadly, tears streaming. Love quickly wiped my tears while shaking her head.

"Milk, I am glad you found me even though it took some time, and I am glad you sacrificed yourself to make sure I was okay. You did nothing wrong, and I love you the way you are..." Love said while caressing my cheeks.

"I love you, Milk, and that's the important thing you need to know. And whatever happens after this, we stick together and survive this, okay? We still need to get married..." Love stated the word blushing. Now, she blushes when she says the word married. I smiled at her softly while nodding my head.

"Let's go to the rooftop tonight. Let's watch the sky, both of us?" I invited Love, and she nodded slowly. Love never said no to me, and I am glad she is by my side, understanding my work as a well-known scientist.

Night came, and I brought Love to the rooftop, which I cleaned every now and then. View and June usually went here for their dates, and sometimes, I caught them making out. I missed Love more seeing them happy that time, but now I am with the Love of my life, watching the bright skies.

We are sitting side by side right now, looking at the sky. I still felt terrible not finding Love in time and making her suffer. Love sitting beside me knows what I'm thinking.

"Milk, I want you always to know that you never do anything wrong... What you did was just your job, and we just got unlucky, but you never gave up, and I admire this very much..." Love said lovingly, making me blush.

"Erm... you don't need to admire me that much. Love... I did nothing other than find you. It is also very late, and you got hurt in the process. I am nothing but bringing you trouble..." I said sadly, looking down. Love quickly touched my chin, making me look at her lovely brown eyes.

"Milk, never ever doubt yourself in loving me. I chose you because I know you are the one for me. Because I have you, nothing can be as painful as being separated from you. The pain of not seeing you daily makes my world dark, Milk, and now it is so clear because I know you never stop searching for me. I made the correct decision to choose you, Milk." Love said the words while looking into my eyes softly and full of Love.

Slowly, she moved closer to me, and our lips touched. Slowly, we kissed under the stars that witnessed our Love. I touched her cheeks slowly and deepened our kiss. Love slowly put her arm around my neck, and I supported her back while we kissed. We stopped kissing after losing our breath.

I looked at her, smiling, then started rubbing our noses and kissing her back. I can tell you that this was the most tender kiss we had after a year apart, and I can feel Love yearning to be kissed and wanting to kiss.

Her lips were so soft, and she smelled so good, making me continue our kiss a couple of times. We stopped when we needed to take a breather, and Love started to smile softly and giggling. I missed this, her giggles and smile.

"The sky witnesses our love today..." Love said to me, blushing, and I noddedwhile blushing too.

"Indeed, and I will ensure that our Love will never stop. Not today and not ever. I love you, Love. Thank you for having me in our life." We sit together, watching the skies while hugging each other as our lives depend on it. 

We both know that tomorrow is another day, and we will cherish tonight at least.
