"What are you staring at? Who are you staring at?" Rhaenyra demanded her head whipping around.

"No one! Nothing!" Alicent shouted turning back to her book.

"Sure. Convincing." Rhaenyra drawled

"Lets get back to work. This was actually an interesting lesson-"

"It was a bore." Rhaenyra corrected.

"Girls," aemma said as she approached. Alicent was quick to get to her feet to properly curtsy for the queen. Rhaenyra smiled up at her mother from the ground

"Your grace." Alicent answered.

"Lady Alicent, what are you two up to this fine day?" Aemma pondered

"Lessons. What a bore. What a waste of a good day, i have a splendid idea!" Rhaenyra declared jumping up, leaving the book beside the shrubbery "lets go for a ride."

"My feet are content on the ground." Alicent countered.

"Fine.... Bye!" Rhaenyra decided running off. Aemma chuckled

"You two are quite the opposites." Aemma told alicent.

"That we are. Im not as fearless as the princess." Alicent admitted.

"I wish she was a bit more tame like yourself at times." Aemma countered bidding her goodbye. Alicent moved to pick up the book but a tanned hand was already grabbing it. He smiled holding it out to her.

"Thank you." Alicent whispered taking it from him her fingers brushed against him.  He nodded in answer. "Im... Alicent."

"Alicent." He repeated fondly. She blushed at the way he said her name.

"Whats your- I dont know your name." Alicent reminded him. He hesitated focusing hard.

"Miguel." He answered.

"Miguel. Its so nice to formally meet you."
Alicent added. "Thank you again for," she looked down at her book pulling her gaze from his caramel eyes.

"Thank you." He repeated feeling foolish for not knowing the right words to say.  She gave a little giggle before heading off. He watched her, she turned glancing back at him twice before heading inside.

He didn't speak much of the common tongue but he learned so he could speak with lady alicent. His family didn't understand his father and 57 brothers- yes an exaggeration but it felt like it. He was the youngest of 12 and all his brothers picked on him made him do the dirty work.

Miguel liked his job. He was good at tending to the flowers and trees. He loved being outside. He could watch alicent, her beautiful auburn hair and stunning green eyes so hypnotizing. Her laugh made him smile from across the courtyard.

His father of course had set matches up for each of his brothers marrying them off oldest to youngest. So he had some time to dream and fantasize that he could have Alicent for himself.

Miguel knew her name. Knew she liked to be the best in her studies but had a hard time remembering different lords and ladies of old. Knew she liked lotus flowers because she spent the most time beside the little pond watching the frogs and reaching out for the lotus just out of reach.

"Oi!" His father smacked him over the back of the head commanding he get back to work and stop oggling the princess but it wasn't the princess that caught his eye.

Boy thinks he can get a princess before father marries him off to an old hag, his brother was saying. Miguel scowled back at him glad for the language barrier so no one else that actually mattered could hear what his brother was saying.

Miguel looked to alicent again.

"No princess... Alicent."
