Nedvar spoke with a harsh tone, a tone he never uses it with Hermione.

Nedvar's point of view of the same day. _______________________________________
Nedvar groaned in his sleep, feeling a warm presence enveloping him. He half-opened his eyes to see the person he loved most, Hermione, nestled against him, her head on his chest and her hand resting on his stomach.
A smile crept across his face as he watched her sleep so peacefully, one leg sprawled across him like she owned him.
Reluctantly, he pulled away, knowing he had to wake Ethan for school and deal with some unpleasant business.
Hermione stirred slightly, and he froze, heart racing at the sight of her snuggling deeper into her pillow.
His smile grew genuine, a rare occurrence, as he took out his phone to snap a few pictures of her adorable slumber.
After a quick shower, he dressed in a shirt and formal pants and made his way to Ethan’s room, where he found him awake.
Susan was there, struggling to get him into his uniform shirt.
“Susan, it’s okay; I’ll get him ready,” Nedvar offered.
“Okay, then I’ll check on his breakfast and lunch,” she replied, relief evident in her voice.
“Thanks, Susan,” he said, and she chuckled, nodding her head.
“Mama?” Ethan asked softly, his big eyes searching for reassurance.
“Mama is tired and still sleeping,” Nedvar replied, tousling Ethan’s hair.
“I don’t want to talk to you; you scolded Mama yesterday!” Ethan pouted, crossing his arms.
“I didn’t scold her, buddy,” Nedvar said, tying Ethan’s shoelaces. “I apologized, and we’re all good now.”
“Okay, I’m fine now too,” Ethan declared, jumping off the stool he had been sitting on.
Nedvar made sure Ethan had a proper breakfast before wiping his face clean. He tied his tie, hung his blazer over his arm, and grabbed Ethan’s bag with the same hand.
He buckled Ethan into the front passenger seat of his Audi, fastening his own seatbelt before driving toward the main street and heading to Ethan’s pre-school.
After walking Ethan to the gates, he waved goodbye as his teacher took him inside.
Nedvar circled the car, buckled up, and accelerated toward the main office, determined to get answers.
