"Mia, I am repeating again, you will not go, and it is final," Nedvar spoke sternly, his voice echoing in the spacious office as he made his way to his desk.
"Watch me when I go," Hermione shot back, her defiance igniting a fire within her. With that, she stormed out, heading straight towards their room.
After last night, the atmosphere felt heavy with tension. Hermione had moved everything from her closet into Nedvar's room, a gesture of intimacy that now felt strained.
Nedvar groaned, the weight of his denial settling uncomfortably in his chest. He hadn't wanted to sound cold; he just knew how stubborn Hermione could be. It was a difficult balancing act, managing her fierce independence and the safety he felt compelled to protect.
"Is your wife throwing tantrums?" Leopoldo's smirk startled Nedvar, breaking his train of thought.
"You fucker! Who allowed you to enter my office?" Nedvar growled, irritation flaring. "Nothing. Just wanted to inform you about the cagna," Leopoldo replied casually, leaning against the doorframe. "Then spit it out! I'm not in the mood for games this morning!" Nedvar snapped, clearly annoyed before Leopoldo had even finished.
"He had a daughter who was taking care of his expenses. Like every other cliché story, he was blinded by gambling, so she had to suffer. The lady was kidnapped because her father sold her to a local gangster," Leopoldo revealed, his tone serious now.
Nedvar's head snapped up at the shocking news, rage boiling just beneath the surface. "Find out their whereabouts. I'll prepare for hunting. It's been days since people have whispered about the ruthlessnessof the king."
