Daniel struggled against the arms of all the socs. He could feel the blood running down his neck and soaking into the collar of his shirt.

"Your wimpy brother took off without you, huh greaser?"

Daniel stayed silent. He wasn't going to give into these stupid socs and their comments. If they wanted a reaction out of him, they were going to have to try harder.

"Not saying nothin' huh?" The soc pressed the blade down harder. Daniel let out a gasp as he tried to push the soc off of him. Daniel struggled to breathe. The other socs had finally realized he was trying to fight back and had grabbed his arms and pinned them to the ground.

Daniel was sure his face was turning purple. Maybe he would finally be able to see his parents again. Though, he would miss his brothers. Darry was a great caregiver but there's something about a mother's love that you just couldn't get anywhere else.

Just as Daniel was about to close his eyes, he pressure on his neck was lightened and he could move his arms. Daniel let out a gasp for air, trying to fill his lungs with air again. He could hear the sound of punching and grunts. He could only hope that it was someone from his gang here to rescue him.

Soon, the fighting stopped. Daniel continued to stare up at the sky and regain his breath. A face came into his field of vision before crouching down next to him.

"Who would have thought the mighty Daniel would have needed saving?" Dally said with a feign shock in his voice.

"Shut up, Dallas" Daniel gasped out. His throat hurt and he felt sticky with the blood soaked into his shirt.

"Oh, so we're using full names now, huh?" Dally laughed before he slid his hand under Daniel's back and helped to lift him up. Daniel let out a gasp of pain when Dally pressed into his back. He must have landed on it when the socs pushed him down.

Daniel glanced around and saw the three socs laying on the ground, covered in bruises. Their Mustang also had a few popped tires and the driver's side window was smashed.

"You did that?" Daniel asked and pointed towards the car. Dally looked at the car before a proud smirk rose to his face.

"Hell yeah I did"

Footsteps rushed towards the two along with shouts of his name. Daniel and Dally both turned to the sound and saw Darry and Soda running towards him. Pony stayed behind and let his older brothers take care of Daniel. He stood close by though.

"Oh my gosh! Danny, are you okay?" Soda said as he crouched down by Dally. He grabbed onto Daniel's face and turned his head to the side to get a better view of the cut along his neck. Darry crouched down on the other side of Daniel before turning towards the socs that were still laying on the ground.

"Are these the guys that beat you up?" Darry asked. Daniel nodded and rested his body against Soda. Darry walked over to the one with brown curly hair and raised his foot, almost like he was going to kick him. He dropped his foot onto the socs hand with the heel of his boot. Daniel winced as he heard a few cracks.

"Where does it hurt, bub?" Soda asked.

Daniel gestured to his back. Soda leaned over and lifted Daniel's shirt off of his body. Daniel winced in pain as the fabric dragged across his open cut but the sighed in relief as the bloody short was no longer sticking to his skin.

Soda placed a hand on Daniel's lower back and slightly pushed. Daniel winced and tried to lean away from the pressure.

"Sorry, Danny. Just tryin' find where it hurts." Soda mumbled. Darry tilted his head just like Soda had and looked at the bloody cut. Most of the blood had dried up by now, must to Daniel's distaste. Soda also took notice of the blood on Daniel's hands and knee.
