Aqua-star's POV
"Optimus, have you uncovered any further sign of Unicron's emergence?" Ratchet asks. We hadn't heard from Optimus since he told us of the ore. Instead of hearing Optimus, we hear another voice.
"Unicron is power incarnate, and you, the last of the Primes, shall perish" it states.
"I take that as a yes. We are on our way" Ratchet states as I prepare the ground bridge.
"Negative. Unicron cannot be defeated by sheer force. He wants me, Ratchet. This fight must be mine alone" Optimus states.
"Yeah, that's not happening" I state. "Arcee, Bumblebee, Bulkhead you three are going in. You make sure Optimus comes back, he is our best shot at defeating Unicron" I tell them. They nod their heads and I activate the ground bridge. Once they arrive they start to plead for Optimus to return to base.
"Please! Listen to reason! If you don't survive, Optimus, I fear neither will this planet
Ratchet tells him over the comms.
"Very well" Optimus relents.
"I'm sending you a bridge Optimus" I tell him. "Tell me when" I add.
"Will do Aqua-star" he states. We have the comms open so we can hear everything.
"That Unicron?" Bee asks.
"No, not Unicron himself, but another of his manifestations" Optimus states.
"If we can't beat Unicron and we can't outrun him, what exactly are we supposed to do?" Bulkhead asks.
"All we can do. Neutralize his vessels as they appear, until we find a way to destroy him without destroying the very Earth upon which we walk" Optimus answers.
"I am this world's past and its future. And as of this moment..." Unicron starts to say.
"No!" we hear Arcee yell.
"All Primes are simply past" Unicron states. Suddenly we hear fire blasts through the comm link. Followed by something heavy hitting the ground.
"Who destroyed it?" Bee asks.
"Wasn't me" Arcee answers.
"Me neither" Bulkhead adds.
"What happened guys?" I ask them.
"I happened" a familiar voice says. I freeze, I know that voice. We all do.
"Megatron" I sneer.
"King 'Con is there, too?" Miko asks.
"He has aligned himself with Unicron" Ratchet states.
"Don't be so sure. Megatron just saved Optimus' tailpipe" Arcee tells us. Ratchet and I share a shocked look. Why would Megatron save Optimus? It doesn't make sense.
"It is rather ironic, considering our last encounter" Megatron states. "If memory serves, you were desperately attempting to extinguish my spark" he adds.
"That option remains very much in play" Optimus tells him.
"I would expect nothing less" Megatron tells him. "However, I have a proposal. Join me in defeating our shared enemy. Unicron, the chaos-bringer" he proposes.
"Ha! Absurd! Unicron is evil incarnate. If Megatron was to take any side, why would it be ours?" Ratchet asks.
"My thoughts exactly" I agree with him.
"Because Megatron's pride would never allow anyone other than himself to rule this planet" Optimus tells us. That actually makes sense. But I still wouldn't trust Megatron.
