Letter to Jay Gatsby from daisy Fay

'Dear Jay Gatsby, I've waited for you day and night since you've left for war nor have I heard from you since you've returned. In your absence, I have met someone named Tom Buchanan. He's treated me quite well while you have been absent. He's wealthy, and I feel that I have fallen in love with his just as I once was with you Jay. I didn't want to do this but you leave me no choice, I'm tired of waiting for you to come and sweep me off of my feet and care for me. Please understand that I still love you but I'm not getting any younger Jay-'

There was more to read but Gatsby couldn't bare to read how the love of his life Daisy Fay, had moved on and found another man.

Gatsby then ripped the letter and threw away the remains. And just as the letter was torn into pieces, so was his heart. Oh how he wished that she knew that after the war, he was trying to save up money to be with her and give her the life that she had desperately wanted but hearing the news about her moving on broke his heart. Not only did it break his heart but it gave him the motivation to try and get her back

...

Day after day and soon week after week Gatsby worked hard to gain wealth and to win back daisy. He put his blood sweat and even tears into his work. Daisy was always on his mind, he went as far as keeping every letter she had sent to him and every picture he could find of her in a notebook. He looked at it every night that he wasn't busy working.

One night he received news that daisy fay was going to marry that cursed Tom Buchanan. This was the night that the great Gatsby lost hope. He reflected back on the times where he and daisy were together. He also thought about the time when he first met daisy. She was the first nice girl that he had ever met but it was all just a memories that he now wished that he would forget. He decided to write a response to her letter

Letter to Daisy Fay from Jay Gatsby

'To the love of my life Daisy Fay. I've heard the news about your engagement to Tom Buchanan and I'd like to say congratulations to you. I received your letter about him and how he was a rich man that takes great care of you, but just remember that I still love you Daisy Fay and I wish you understood why I never came back. I've been trying to become wealthy for you so I could give you the life that you so desperately desired, but I see you have that know therefore I shall stop trying for you as there is no need for that. I need to move on and start a new chapter just like you have. Yet again congratulations - Jay Gatsby

After he sent his letter he worked harder than before, but it wasn't for daisy, it was for himself. A few years later he met a man named Meyer Wolfsheim, were gatsby achieved his wealth and part of him wished that daisy could see what he had accomplished. He ended up moving right across from daisy but they were separated by the bay. He threw parties hoping that daisy would wander in out of curiosity. He wanted her to hear about his parties by word of mouth or through newspapers but she never did.

Perhaps he should let her go, there was no way daisy would show up at his parties. She was probably so in love with Tom that she wasn't aware that Gatsby still existed. He slowly stopped having parties because he grew tired of seeing all of the fun people around him were having and there was no point of having a enormous party for someone who never showed up.

At his last party he was in a rush to get to a phone call from Chicago and he ended up bumping into someone harshly, so he stopped in his tracks and bowed his head slightly and apologized
