Chapter 1
Sophie POV
"I Can't believe you guys made me take you guys with me to the forbidden cities. Why are you putting yourselves in even more danger?!" I groaned, while packing my bags in my bedroom at Havenfield with Keefe, Fitz, Biana, Linh, Tam, Dex, and Marella.
"Because we want to help you. Besides, we're going to a human high school. We finally are like real teens! Now that the Neverseen are gone, we can finally live our lives!" Biana exclaimed. Everyone else nodded.
"It'll be fun." Keefe said, "I'll finally test my luck at pranking humans! Actually, it'll
probably be super easy."
"You guys are hopeless, you know that?" I asked. Everyone rolled their eyes at me, mostly Keefe and then laughed. "If you're coming, grab your bags and let's go." We all got our bags and went downstairs and found our parents waiting for them, minus Quin, Mai, and Lord Cassius. All the parents pulled their respective children into giant bear hugs with Tam Linh and Keefe stood there awkwardly until they were pulled into a group hug.
"Please be careful Sophie." Edaline begged as she pulled me into another giant hug that made me say, " Can't breathe mom!" "Sorry" Edaline said as she finally let go of me.
"All right you guys we have to go. I love you mom, dad." I called and all of my friends waved to their parents and ran over to me, grabbed my hands and walked over to the Havenfield cliffs.
"I can't believe we're doing this." Biana whispered, "I mean, I know we've done this kind of thing before but it feels different this time somehow."
"I know. Are you guys ready for this?" I said, glancing at all of them, "This could be really really dangerous."
"Sophie, when we hang out with you EVERYTHING is dangerous!" Keefe said exasperated, "Now let's go" And with that he pulled us off the edge and into the black void.
