Chapter 4 Percy POV
As we all walked towards our classes I whispered to Annabeth, "So these new kids..." She smiled at me and raised her eyebrows, "What do you think of them? Do you think we can trust them? They seem kinda suspicious."
"I'm not sure. They definitely have an aura of power around them like we do and like monsters do, and they seem pretty nice," She gestured to where all of the others were talking and laughing like they had known each other their whole lives. "I mean, it seems like we all have a lot in common. I guess we'll have to wait and see." She smiled again and took my hand. Then we jogged to catch up with the others as they entered the classroom.
We walked into class just as the last bell rang. The teacher took attendance and then said, "I would like you all to welcome our eight new students: Sophie Foster, Keefe Sencen, Biana and Fitz Vacker, Dex Dizznee, Tam and Linh So-"
"Just Tam and Linh, please. We don't use our parents' names." Tam interrupted, and his friends giggled.
"Alright, just Tam and Linh then, and finally Marella Redek. Now everyone please open your math books to page 337..."
LATER Biana POV
"That was probably the most boring class I've ever been to." I groaned as they walked to lunch, "I almost fell asleep"
"Well we have our electives next. That'll probably be more fun." Sophie told me as we grabbed our lunches from our lockers. We packed lunch because Sophie said most schools either don't have a vegetarian meal or just aren't very good, sometimes both. When we got to the cafeteria Sophie and Fitz grabbed their heads.
"Ugh, I forgot how loud human thoughts were at schools," Sophie moaned, finally uncovering her ears, "That's better." We spotted Percy, Annabeth, and their friends and waved and motioned for us to sit at their table.
"Thank god, I did not want to stand here forever like Sophie did on her first day of school," Marella said, as we made our way over to their table, "Social disaster." People practically stared and drooled at us the whole way.
"Hi." Annabeth said when we sat down, "Have you guys noticed how much people are staring at you? Like, literally everyone."
"I know, it's so embarrassing." Linh whispered, blushing. "I wish they would stop." The rest of us nodded. Now, it's not like I mind as much as some of the others probably do, but I have a crush on Tam and I'm kinda uncomfortable with how most of the boys are staring at me. It's so weird. After lunch we all went our separate ways for electives and I went to art with Keefe. I loved it and I learned a lot. Keefe was definitely the best one there.
"What did you think Biana?" Keefe asked me as we walked to the exit to walk to the mansion the collective had built for us.
"I loved it! You were definitely the best one there by far." I exclaimed. He looked at me and I could tell something was on his mind but I didn't want to question it. Then he spoke.
"Biana, you're Sophie's best friend right." I hesitated, pretty sure I knew where this was going,
then nodded. "Do you know if she likes me?" I sighed. I really really REALLY didn't want to get
In the middle of all of this stuff between my brother and Keefe and Sophie. But then again I don't really think Sophie and Fitz are perfect for each other anymore, but I do think Keefe and Sophie are perfect for each other and I want them to be happy.
"Yes I think she likes you. In fact I know she does. Sophie, Linh, Marella, and I had a girl sleepover a few days ago and she confessed. She really likes you, Keefe. And I know for a fact that you like her too."
"You're wrong. I don't like her Biana. I love her." He told me. I could definitely hear his conviction. I was about to respond when we saw the rest of her friends and we ran over.
"Are you guys ready to see the mansion?" Sophie asked, shouldering her bag and looking at us, "We're going to have to find an alley or something to leap to it. But that shouldn't be a problem because this is New York City after all."
"Yeah, I'm ready!" Keefe said, smiling, "but doesn't being in a mansion that probably has swimming pools, art studios and giant closets, just to name a few, sounds kinda...... boring doesn't it." Then we all looked at each other then cracked up.
"Actually I have an idea." Sophie said after she composed herself, "I've always wanted to see a musical on broadway. Musicals are like the movies we watch sometimes but with songs. They're amazing." Sophie got a dreamy look in her eyes.
That sounds awesome, but how will we understand what they are saying? We don't speak English." I pointed out. Sophie looked surprised.
"Um, it's what you've been speaking this whole time. I can't believe Forkle didn't tell you. Actually I can. He's weird that way. He implanted the knowledge of the human language in your heads.
"Really that's so weird. Anyways that's that problem solved then. I was wondering why I could understand everyone." Dex said, everyone else nodded.
"We better get home then. I have to makeover all the girls in just a few hours. Sophie I don't
what you say we need to look good." I said, as Sophie groaned, Linh and Marella squealed, and I grinned. "Come on." I broke out into a run and everyone else followed me. I found an alleyway , stopped running, and waited for everyone else to arrive a few seconds later. Then we grabbed hands and leaped to our new house.
