Chapter 5

Keefe POV

As we were running to an alleyway behind Biana I tried to process what Biana had said. Did Sophie really really like me? I knew Biana wouldn't lie to me but it seemed impossible. He knew that Fitz and Sophie had liked each other for years and he knew that they had tried and broken up but he had always assumed that they would get back together eventually. But, when he thought about it he realized that it would explain why Sophie had been acting strange around him lately and how Biana, Linh, and Marella kept whispering to each other and giggling. He decided that tonight would be the night he talked to Sophie about what Biana had said. He would just have to see what happened.

When they get to the mansion

I was impressed, and I could tell that the others were too, especially Sophie, which wasn't really that surprising considering her upbringing.

"What are we standing around here for? Let's explore!" I yelled and ran into the house with the others right behind me.

"Wow!" Sophie said, as we all looked around the first floor. There was a kitchen that was one of the biggest I had ever seen. There was a living room with a bunch of couches and a screen that we used sometimes at Sophie's house to watch movies. Dex confirmed that the words would be in the enlightened language whenever we used it unless specified otherwise. Then Linh screamed in excitement

"There's a swimming pool over here!" and we all ran over. Linh was right in front of us. There was the biggest swimming pool I had ever seen in front of me." Then we all went upstairs to explore the rooms which were absolutely amazing and personalized for each of us. Sophie's room had an amazing view with a window seat and it always smelled like panakes. Her room also came with a super big music and recording studio, since we had found out not long after the war ended that Sophie played guitar and had an angelic voice that was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard. Her squeal was so genuine and adorable and she immediately started examining all of the instruments in the room. Biana's room was decked out in pastel pinks and blues with the biggest closet known to elves, and probably humans, attached to her room. Fitz's room was pretty basic except for a punching bag and a calm down corner that made all of them laugh. My room had an art studio that was absolutely incredible with easels and paints and other art supplies everywhere. Dex's room was, of course, an engineer's dream. It had the most tools Keefe had ever seen in his life and some of them he didn't even know the names of. Bangs boy's room was just super dark, nothing really special. Linh's room was like being under the ocean and it was attached to the swimming pool they had seen earlier by stairs. Finally, or at least he thought finally, he had lost track of rooms by then, Marella's room had a note that said everything was fireproof so she could practice her ability whenever she wanted without burning the house down. After all that Biana herded all the girls into her room to get ready so me and the other boys sat down and waited to go to the show.
