PETER HAD LEFT HER IN A CRISIS. Amiah's new friends had tried reassuring her but she knew he wasn't completely wrong. Everyone was bigger and stronger than her. She was too weak for Dauntless and Amiah should have never come here.

"I think I'm going to head to bed guys," Ignoring their protests that Peter was just being a dick, Amiah got up from the table, "I'm fine. Just want to head to bed early."

On her way out, she heard someone call her name. Uriah was waving his arms wildly to get her attention. Lynn punched him in the shoulder and yelled something at him. Despite her shitty mood, she couldn't help but smile as she walked towards the trio.

"Hey guys."

Marlene gave her bright smil, "How was the tour? Did you see those toilets?" her nose wrinkled in disgust, "Disgusting!"

"It could be worse. At least the showers are kind of private," said Lynn, trying to make them feel better. Shaking her head back and forth, "Nope. I can't do it," says Amiah, "I think I just won't shit for the next 6 weeks," causing the three Dauntless to burst into laughter.

"We'll get used to it," reassured Uriah but he didn't seem to believe his own words. "Says you," Amiah does not feel the same, "I don't think I ever will."

"How is it having Four as an instructor, isn't he cute," interjects Marlene, hearts practically in her eyes. Amiah noticed that Lynn frowned after the blonde girl said that. Interesting. She'd done the same earlier when Marlene was talking about Uriah's brother.

Growing up in Candor, they were taught to pay attention to body language. So, Amiah couldn't help but pay attention to how people physically reacted to things. It was both a blessing and a curse.

It helped her to get a good read on people and situations. But it also meant that she could tell when people didn't like her.

"I swear," complains Amiah, "He hates us and his job. All he does is frown at us. I feel like I'm dealing with a disappointed dad."

Uriah laughed, "Sounds about right. I have no idea how my brother is friends with him."

"Ohhh is this the hot brother," teased Amiah. "Say that one more time and I'm never talking to you again."

Holding up her hands up in mock surrender, "Okay. I'm sorry," a mischievous smile creeped up on Amiah's face, "I won't talk about your hot brother anymore."

"Fuck you Miah," Uriah said, but there wasn't any heat to it and he was smiling. Her stomach swooped in excitement. He had given her a nickname! The only person that ever called her that was Drew when they were kids. Before he became a huge dick, that is.

After Amiah talked with them a bit longer, she said goodbye and started heading towards the dormitories. She quickly realized she was lost. Could this day get any worse?

She heard voices and ducked away out of sight, pressing herself up against a cave wall. Amiah wasn't about to embarrass herself in front of people from her future faction.

"Did you know?" said a familiar voice. Amiah pressed herself closer to the wall, worried she'd be spotted. "About what?"

"Don't play dumb," said Peter, "That your sister was going to pick Dauntless."
