Varenya's POV :

A few seconds later, a man got out of the other car—the driver—who quickly came to check on us.

As i gulped.

"Are you okay, ma'am?" he asked.

"Yes, we're fine," Tejal replied politely.

But then another man emerged, exuding annoyance. His gaze flickered between us and his car, his expression darkening as he finally spoke.

"What's wrong with you, miss? If you don't know how to drive, maybe you shouldn't be behind the wheel!"

"Abbey!-" (You!-) I was ready to throw hands but Tejal's voice came out loud,

"Behave." I nodded.

"Excuse me?!" I snapped back. "You shouldn't be jumping to conclusions without knowing what actually happened."

Before things could escalate further, Tejal tugged at my arm, silently signaling me to drop it. She was right—we were already running late.

I glanced at my watch. 8:15. Damn it.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to compose myself and spoke again. "Look, it was an accident. I didn't do this intentionally. I'll cover the cost of the damage."

The guy crossed his arms, glancing at his car. "It's not just about the money. This isn't even my car—it's my brother's. If he finds out, I'll be the one in trouble."

His exaggerated reaction was almost comical, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Tejal, on the other hand, looked like she was admiring him. Seriously, girl?

"We're really sorry." Tejal said softly, her tone far more diplomatic than mine.

"Fine, whatever." he muttered. Then, unexpectedly, his demeanor softened. "By the way, I'm Archit. Nice to meet you."

He extended a hand toward Tejal, and of course, she shook it enthusiastically.

"Excuse me?" I interrupted sarcastically. "If you're done socializing, can we go now? We're already late."

Finally, we arrived at Singhania Corporation. After parking, we hurried to the receptionist, who directed us to our respective interview locations. Tejal headed to the finance department, while I made my way to the ninth floor.

When my name was called, I stood outside the interview room, nerves bubbling in my chest. Gathering my courage, I stepped inside.
