After two hours of moping around and sulking in the hallway, wilbur brought himself to knock gently at fundys door and quietly let himself in.

"hey." He murmured, and fundy tossed around in his bed.

"hi." The fox replied, sitting up in the mass of thin blankets and cushions, that being all will could afford.

"look, fundy. I'm really sorry for shouting at you."

"It's okay. I'm sorry for saying what I said, I don't hate you dad."

"I know you don't. I need you to understand I only want what's best for you."

Fundy stood up and wrapped his arms around his father, who mirrored the gesture tightly.

He wasn't a strict father. Wilbur just wanted the absolute best and safest life possible for the pair, considering what they'd been through. What they'd all been through. Windows were padlocked closed at night and all blinds pulled down, so no lights could be seen from outside the house, doors locked, etc.

"I'm going to go out for a few hours, call me if you need me and watch tallulah. There's a gun in my room under the left pillow if you really need it." Wilbur kissed fundys forehead and ruffled his hair before sending him back off to bed and leaving the room.

"Are you sure about this, Wil?" Jack spoke, fiddling with his bow tie and tripping on the laces of his dress shoes.

Wilbur huffed and pulled his short curly hair over his eyebrows. "Yes I'm sure! What are you so worried about?"

"Well last time I checked, convicted murderers aren't exactly welcome in Las Nevadas."

"Seriously, jack?"

"What! We could've just stayed in manburg you know."

"No, manburgs a shit hole. Plus las Nevadas has so many good casinos. I want to go to Rampart, anyway."

"Rampart?! They're going to ID you, and we'll both be kicked out."

"Don't be so dramatic. Nobody here even knows me."

"Yeah apart from the literal president wil."

"Why would the president know me?! Who even is it now anyways."

Jack stopped in his tracks and pivoted to face his peer. "You seriously don't know?"

Wilbur rolled his eyes and groaned. "Why should I? Not my country! Tell me though." He watched as jack ripped a flyer off of one of the many street light poles and handed it to him.

'CASINO ENCORE; OPENED BY YOUR OWN PRESIDENT, ALEXIS QUACKITY.'

"WHAT?!"

"I know! Huge success from him."

"Shut up jack. Who's that in the background?" Wilbur's finger hovered over a smudged character with his arm around the president.

"Oh that's his fiancé."

"Fiancé? He's engaged?"

"Yeah."

"Fucking hell, that's a bit soon surely."

"I don't know will, when you know you know I guess."

The duo continued walking down the busy streets until they reached the casino named 'Encore'. "This is the one displayed in the flyer is it not?"

"Don't even think about it Wilbur."

"I'm not thinking about it!" He said, strolling into the casino and handing his ID to a nearby bouncer who was dressed in full blacks, and studied the ID card carefully.
