After their short turn about the room, Ramirez had led him back to his place at the Prince's side, muttering quietly about needing to attend to something before she left them alone.

"And like an obnoxious flea, you have returned," the Prince rolled his eyes when the Commander left, clearly looking to start banter with Will. As always, he was happy enough to indulge.

"Not without protest, believe me," Will taunted. "Plus, I am much more of a butterfly. You're just a glue-trap that I get unfortunately stuck with whenever I come near."

The prince looked him up and down before sighing, "Your ego has gotten much too big if you think yourself to be as endearing as a butterfly."

"My ego may be big, but trust me, some other things are as well," He made sure to send him an obnoxious wink.

He visibly flushed at this remark, looking around them to check who was near before speaking, "William, there is quite literally no need to yell things like that in such a formal setting. Actually, need to scream that ever."

"Well then, what would you like me to scream? Your name perhaps?"

The Prince opened his mouth to berate him, then shook his head deciding otherwise. He turned on his heel, muttering something about needing a drink before disappearing into the crowd.

"Thank gods you are here," A voice belonging to Percy soon chided near him. If he had to be bothered by a person, he would gladly take the general over any other man in the room.

He turned to face the general who appeared at his wits end, slightly disheveled already. "Wow, Percy, having a good time tonight?"

"Oh the greatest," he laughed hollowly. "These dam political officials keep wanting to talk to me, and when they aren't speaking with me, they are flirting with Annabeth. It's horrible, really. I have more work fending them off than I do with protecting the Prince."

"Ah yes, it seems that many of the officials have quite the appetite for discussion tonight," Will mused looking around the room. "But luckily it seems the Prince is able to handle himself."

"Very true. He has never been one to take nicities as the easy way out, sociability comes with the job though, and he is incredible at putting up his mask. To everyone who does not have the pleasure of knowing him, he is very good at appearing to be the perfect symbol of pure royalty."

"What am I good at doing?" The prince reappeared with two drinks in hand, extending one to Will. "To cool you off."

He gladly accepted it with a large grin. "Oh you didn't have to get me a drink. You know there are plenty of other things you could put in my mouth to shut me up."

Percy made a spluttering noise, looking between the two with wild eyes. "I believe this is where I leave."

Will laughed loudly as the general quickly made his exit, earning him a swat on the head from the angry prince.

"What on earth is wrong with you?" He hissed angrily at Will, who only found his anger even funnier.

"I am sure I do not know what you mean by that, your highness," he feigned an innocent smile back. At this point, it was far too easy to get under the Prince's skin. Simply a couple double entendres, and he could make the man flip out completely. It was a game to him, see how red he could make the Prince turn before the poor man exploded from embarrassment.

"One of these days, William, I swear I am going to-" The prince, to Will's misfortune, was cut off by the loud blaring of trumpets anouncing his sisters arrival. He silently cursed, wishing they had waited a few moments longer so Will could have learned what the Prince was going to do to him. Not that he wanted to start anything, but threats from the Prince were all too entertaining to receive.
