Hey there! First at Last was the first book I ever wrote. I wrote it when I was in high school and, still, nearly a decade later, I'm so proud of it. Over the years, I've received so much love and support for the story. I never expected that it would ever reach 9 million reads! It's incredible! Not only that, but the amount of people who have reached out to me or commented, telling me how much they loved it and how much it's meant to them. Even all these years later, I am still so blessed that I could write a story that reached so many people. So, thank you. I will forever be so grateful for all the people who have loved First at Last. Truly, thank you so much.
I always told my readers I would update it or edit it, but when I first tried, it seemed like such a daunting task. I had no idea how to edit, how to fix plot holes, or write meaningful character development. Honestly, I'm still learning all of these things, but since I first wrote this story, I've written so much more and I've learned so much. A couple years ago, I took a shot at editing and fixing it up, following through on my promise to my readers that I would make the book better in any way I could.
That being said, I changed a lot of things. I've grown so much as a writer and I believe the edits I've made to First at Last reflect that. Though, change is often controversial and not always appreciated. I know that the original story meant so much to so many people and it felt wrong to make the edits to the original document on Wattpad. Instead, I decided I would just publish it as a new book so that people could still appreciate the original, but could read the updated one if they wanted to.
Again, I want to emphasize that I made a lot of changes. I understand that the changes I made might not please everyone and that's okay, they don't have to. Again, that's why I won't be taking down the original so that people can still enjoy it as it was. But I worked really hard to make it better and I hope you like it!
