"Sungie." I try to call out gently.

But the younger had his arms crossed, staring out the passanger window, not budging at any attempt. Soft sniffles emit from him every few seconds.

As much as I wanted to hug him, I had to focus on the road. I needed to get Jisung to a safe spot. Away from Baekho.

Because I know it must've been him again.

However, I couldn't help but glance in his direction constantly. My heart felt heavy just looking at the defeated boy. I mean I saw how excited he was, picking out his outfit and doing his makeup and hair.

But now he looks a mess. And I was terrified that the shining light inside my bestfriend had slowly dimmed. I never wanted him to lose his excitement.

Even if it was for someone else.

I take another glance at the younger once my car comes to a stop at a red light. I don't fail to see the purple bruising across Jisungs wrists as his sleeves ride up.

My mind was blinded by my hearts rage.

I should've never let him go on that date. I should've known it was going to end like this.

I should've known from last time.

But this was Jisungs boyfriend of 2 years. I couldn't stop him.

But the guilt inside of me was intense. I failed to be the hyung I promised to be. And I let him get hurt.

I drive as fast as possible, which was maintaining the speed limit, and reach Jisungs neighborhood quickly. The McDonald's I picked him up from was just off campus and thankfully wasn't far from the youngers home.

I wonder if things could've gotten worse if Jisung didn't text me.

I had dropped everything, I mean literally dropped the beakers of my chemistry lab, to get him as soon as I saw the text.

But I could've been there sooner.

Maybe those bruises wouldn't be there then.

"Sungie, we're home." I finally say in a soft voice as I park the car in the driveway of the Hans household.

Once I turn off the car, I finally turn all my attention toward my bestfriend. He was now looking down at this fingers, fiddling with them in his lap, as his shoulder slightly shook.

I reach a hand out, placing it on his shoulder, slightly patting it in comfort. "It's gonna be okay sungie? Trust me." I try to meet his eyes from underneath his hair, "Let's go inside hm?"

Jisung slightly nods.

I open the car door and get out, walking around to the passanger door and opening it. This reminded me so much of the last date Jisung went on.

Would they all end like this?

"Come on sungie." I reach a hand out and the younger slowly grabs it, letting me pull him out the car, making sure to shut the door behind us.

Jisung keeps my hand in his grip, not letting go as we walk up to the porch of his house. The younger pulls out his keys and opens up the door allowing the two of us to step inside.

As soon as we enter, the smell of cooking fills our noses. It was a familiar scent, one that brought back many childhood memories. Mr. Han's cooking.

And just a few seconds later, the man appears in the entrance of the hallway, an apron on with a usual smile on his face.
