Han Jisung
"I wanna give us a shot, I mean we are... soulmates." I swallow a gulp on the last word. My mind clouded in a fog I desperately tried to make reason of.
"You don't hate me...?"
"Minho of course not." I huff at his ridiculousness, "I'm still working on my feelings but... I know that I do feel something. I think we can work on it together- that's what we've always done right?"
It was as if that was the only thing Minho needed to hear, his lip quivered and he looked like he was going to burst into sobs. Anxiety bubbling off of him, familiar enough for me to catch on
Through all the emotions coming off him, only a single tear escapes Minhos eye, "B-but Baekho?" He asks, doubt displayed in his expression, clear enough even through the dark. "You- you and Baekho?"
I sigh, rubbing my thumb over his hand that was still intertwined with mine, trying to suppress its shakiness, "I... we finally ended things- so don't worry about it."
For a second, I feel like I see a smile flash on the olders face, a shift in his expression that soothes the spiral in his brain, "since when d-did jisungie get so mature?" He mumbles, still managing to tease me even thouugh his whole body seemed to shake, almost on the brink of collapse. I worry that a single gust of wind would be enough to knock him over.
"Ever since I remembered who I was." I send him a smile, watching the way his face contort before more tears began to stream down his cheeks, leading me to reach my hands back up to wipe them away. My thumbs gently caressing underneath his eyes, praying it was enough to calm him.
My smile wavers to a frown as I notice how badly the older was truly shaking. I open my arms again and I wrap them around his body, forcing him to relax in my shoulder once more. He returns to clinging onto me, small cries escaping his lips.
"I'm so s-sorry jisung." He whispers again, burying his head into my neck, "I never wanted it... to b-be this way. I really didn't"
Seeing my strong, reliable, loving and caring bestfriend so distraught was unbelievably heart breaking. I never knew how much of a toll this situation had taken on him, especially considering he's been holding it all in for a year.
I wipe my own tears and stay strong for him, god knows I've cried enough tears this week.
"hyung... there's no need to apologize, okay?" I rub my hand up and down his back, whispering into his ear with a comforting tone. "I don't blame you for feeling that way, but there's no sorrys. And we are here together, so no more secrets?"
Minho frantically nods, exhaling shakily and loudly, "Y-yes of course! Thank you so much Sungie." He holds me close, "thank you for... staying with me."
As much as those words made me want to break down at the fact that Minho even felt the need to thank me, I didn't say anything. Even knowing that he probably hadn't realized how much he deserved was crushing.
I would make it my mission for him to realize that.
He deserves all the worlds beauties and more.
I close my eyes and let out a hum, focusing on the olders touch as the events of this night replay in my mind over and over again. My brain slowly procsssing everything about my changing world.
But underneath all the stress and all the confusion, I knew everything was going to be okay. In the arms of minho, I was in my safety net.
The pressure in my chest seemed to dissipate into bliss, my heartbeat finally calming as reassurance that we will move on.
