I woke with a start. I was lying on my back on a table. I tried to roll over and heard the crinkle of paper under me.

"Dang nabit! She woke before we've even finished! What did I tell you Howard? I told you that it wouldn't be enough to keep her asleep! I told you! And what did you say? 'Oh she'll be fine. We'll be super quick with the surgery' I told you but you never listen!"

"Oh calm your horses Adeline! You are always over reacting! We are just stitching the wound. She'll be able to handle that." I assumed that was Howard. There was a bell going off in my head but I couldn't quite place my finger on what was so familiar about these people. I tried to roll over again but a firm hand held me down.

"Hun you need to stop moving if you want a good clean stitch!" Said the woman, Adeline. So I just laid still while they finished stitching a wound. What was this surgery for anyway? I couldn't possibly think of an idea of what this surgery was for. And I still couldn't figure out why the names Howard and Adeline sound so familiar. I went to ask a question but nothing came out. I tried again and all that came out of my mouth was "who ey bluh"

"Sorry Lily. But I can't understand yah flower child. You're just gonna have to wait till the anesthesia wears off." The man named Howard said. Then as I processed what he had said I realized he had called me flower child. There was only one person in the world who called me that. And he had died 10 years ago when I was 6 years old. His name was Howard James Moore and he was married to Adeline Elizabeth Moore. I couldn't believe that my grandparents were standing right in front of me, and after I had believed they were dead for so long. But I still couldn't talk quite right so I had to wait for my questions to be answered.

"So you really didn't die? You just faked it and went and hid down here? I asked

"Yes. Your grandpa went first. Then I followed four years later. We couldn't just disappear at the same time. That would stir up a lot of trouble for both us and your family." My grandma Adeline replied.

"But why did you have to disappear?"

"Because flower child, we knew that Victor was on the verge of some evil plan to steal that necklace." Grandpa Howard said.

"Wait a minute Lily! You do still have that necklace you got in my will right? Because that contains immense power and you just barely escaped Victor's clutches."

"Yes I still have it Grandma." I lifted my hand to my neck and pulled the blue star necklace from underneath my shirt and over my head. I then handed it to my grandmother who breathed a sigh of relief when she saw it.

"Thank the stars above you didn't lose it after all those years."

"What's so special about this necklace? I mean it must be a big deal if Victor wants it this bad."

"Lily! That necklace contains the world! It keeps the forces of magic in balance all throughout the world! If Victor gets his hands on it he will put the forces of magic out of balance and he would become the most powerful magician. The world would fall under his wrath and there would be no bringing it back. That's why he CANNOT get his hands on it."

"But why isn't the forces of magic out of balance when I have it?"

"Because Lily," said grandpa Howard "you are a good person and you posses the most rare and powerful kind of magic. Lily you have blue sparks. You just have to unlock your true potential. But there is only one person who can help us with that. His name is Mathias Whitesnake."

I gasped.
