Percy POV:

JARVIS led us to some conference room. Nick Fury was sitting there. A child of Athena. He started. "I would like them on the team. We could use the greatest de—" Within seconds, Thalia had her bow out, Nico had his Stygian Iron sword, and I had Fury pinned to the floor with Riptide.
"You mention ANYTHING about our heritage to the mortals, we will not hesitate to cut your throat." He chuckled.
"Ok. I swear it on the Styx." We released him, and I used Hecate's blessing. They all started shouting while the demigods tuned out.
"Why don't we let them decide. Percy?" Fury called.
"Yup?" I replied.
"Do you guys want to be Avengers?"
"Sure," Thalia said.
"No," I said.
"Why do you always make the decisions?" She glared at me.
"Because I'm the oldest," I replied, glaring back at her with a glare I learned from Lupa. She flinched just a second and said, "I would be 21 now!" she yelled back.
"Hold on to your horses, I'm like, 90!" Nico butted in.
"How is he 90?" I heard Steve ask Natasha. She shrugged in reply.
"Thalia, you look and act 16, so you are. Nico, you look and act 14, so that's your age. Guys, I left that life behind me. I can't fight, not anymore. It's my job to protect you. I love you guys. You're all I've got left," I said back at them, my voice raising and cracking with every word.
"Okay, I'm a little confused." I heard Peter's voice. They rushed in and hugged me.
"Ok, let go once," I said, over the whispers of the Avengers minus Fury and Thor. They let me go, and I snapped my fingers. All of them were asleep. I suddenly felt light-headed and stumbled backwards, dropping my crutches. Thalia and Nico rushed to me. I took out some ambrosia and nibbled on it.
"We've gotta watch what we say around the mortals. I can't keep using these powers. And we can do the Avengers," I gasped, the red from my torso drying. They took that choice to wake up as if nothing happened.
"So, you guys wanna?" Peter asked.
"Sure," I sighed.
"Ohhh! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" Thalia squealed.
"You are just proving why I think you're 16. Also, what do you guys even do?" I asked, now turning my attention to the Avengers.
"We save the world."
—I groaned—
"From aliens and evil robots and stuff," Natasha said, a perfect poker face.
"Aliens—exist?" Nico asked. A tear ran down mine and Thalia's faces. Gods and Titans and Giants AND ALIENS?!? We looked up.
"Seriously?!" I screamed to Olympus, and thunder rumbled. The Avengers looked weirdly at us.
"Yeah dude. Didn't you see us saving the world on the news?" Clint replied, getting up to leave.
"Well, we were busy fighting a war of our own," I whispered to my cousins in Greek, and they snickered.
"What language is that?" Natasha asked.
"Greek. My whole paternal family speaks it," I said. Why is she so nosy? She nodded, showing she was impressed.
"Okay, I've got a funeral to attend," I said, dreading the words as they came out of my mouth.
"And no, you can't come," I replied as Bruce's mouth opened.
"Bye guys," I said solemnly. The three of us exited the building and shadow traveled there. I passed Nico some nectar as he swayed a bit.

To the shroud burning:

I walked up to the podium we used very rarely. "Death doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints, and it takes and it takes and it takes. But I keep on living anyway, and I rose and I fell and I broke and I make my mistakes. If there's a reason I'm still alive when so many I have loved have died, I'm willing to wait. If Annabeth, if she were alive, she would say, 'Seaweed Brain, don't mope. You look as stupid as you sound.'" —I sniffed— "I miss her, but I refuse to sit around anymore. For them!" I cried, a few tears running down my face, and everyone was a little misty-eyed, thinking of their friends and siblings. I grabbed the torch from Chiron and headed towards the shroud.
"In Elysium," I muttered and lit it on fire. The fire rose and rose until it contorted into a figure. It became, him. That wretched creature. It let out a horrid chuckle.
"Hahaha. Young hero. You thought you defeated me? Think again. You take my wife, I destroy. Your. Life. Visit your little oracle on your 18th birthday. We shall meet again."
"No, no!" I yelled and let out a battle cry. I took out Riptide and slashed him. Instead of bursting into golden dust, he burst into ashes. I panted, my mind turning back to there as my face paled even more than it usually did. I was shaken back into reality by a young camper asking a somehow scared Dionysus, "What was that?"
"T-Tartarus," I answered.
