A month had passed and only 2 months remained of summer. Ella had seen Draco a few times during the first 2 weeks of summer, him always coming to Snape's house to see her. Draco hadn't written to her since, nor had he come to visit. Ella knew why though, and she knew time was running out.

"Ella," Snape entered the room.

"...I know," Ella replies as she looks up at him "it's time to go."

Snape held his hand out to his adoptive daughter as she raised her hood up to cover her head. Ella reached out and grabbed onto his hand.

"No matter what happens today, we will face it head on." Snape says.

"As we always have," Ella replies.

Snape takes out his wand before they are apparated out of their house. They appeared in a forest, where many others' wearing black cloaks were also appearing. Snape put his wand away before starting to follow the others, Ella walking beside him, staring straight ahead.

The hooded wizards gathered inside the Malfoy Mansion, Snape and Ella standing in the very front of the crowd. Before them sat Voldemort himself, with Lucius and Narcissa standing nearby. Draco was in the room but was not standing by his family.

Draco was watching from the staircase, where his parents had ordered him to stay. He was not a death eater himself, so he was there as a learning experience as the dark lord called it. The meeting itself was giving him an unnerving feeling.

"Severus!" Voldemort calls out to Snape, seeing the man in the crowd.

"My Lord," Snape walks up to the man.

"I knew you would come," Voldemort chuckles "where is she? I haven't seen her since she was young, only through other means."

Ella walked out from the group of wizards and approached the family. Draco stood up from his spot on the stairs and peered over the rails.

"No," Draco mutters "that's not her, is it?"

Ella reached up and pulled the hood down from her face "It's good to see you my lord, alive and well at last."

Draco clutched his chest, it felt as if his heart was going to burst. He knew this would be a bad summer. Snape put his arm around Ella as they stood in front of Voldemort.

"How is your time at the school going my dear?" Voldemort asks.

"Well," Ella replies "other than the old fools teaching at the school. Preaching equality and all that bullshit."

Voldemort laughs loudly "Spoken like a true Death Eater."

"I would hope so," Ella moves her cloak away from her arms, revealing the Dark Mark on her arm "after all, I am one."
