"Another wave of demons incoming!" a soldier shouted urgently.

"Prepare for battle!" commanded the officer on the western wall and everyone readied their weapons.

A massive horde of demons soon came into view on the horizon. Unlike with the weird shapes and sizes of previous encounters, these demons resembled a menagerie of animals with a mix of everything such as wolves, monkeys, lions, elephants, and so on.

"Ready the artillery guns! Fire!" ordered the officer on the western wall. The artillery cannons moved at once and roared to life, firing rounds after rounds.

Artillery shells rained down like firecrackers, creating a series of explosions. But the assault hadn't died down yet as the next attack followed. Water hoses blasted the smoldering remains, momentarily dousing the flames and giving the demons a short moment of peace before hell was let loose by the fourth and last attack.

"Damn, that's a brilliant tactic. No wonder they chose him as commander," a soldier remarked, watching the damage the artillery had done.

"Don't relax now, soldier! There are still too many demonic beasts!" his comrade shouted, firing his rifle at the approaching horde.

"Don't be certain, the artillery will keep them at bay," the soldier replied, "As long as we wouldn't let them get any closer to the wall, we should be fine."
